Every once in awhile Sneaker Obsession hosts a special segment known as “Would You Rock Em??” allowing our readers to vote for their favorite Nike Dunk and Air Force 1 colorways designed by the staff. After going at it alone for awhile, we’re now opening the door and urging our readers to submit their own designs to be considered for the “Would You Rock Em?” segment. Show us with your got and what you feel should be the next big release. You never know who could be watching. Maybe somebody with the right connections will wanna turn your design into an official product!
TO GET STARTED PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE TEMPLATES BELOW BASED ON YOUR EDITING SOFTWARE. QUICK INFO ON HOW TO USE THE TEMPLATES AND HOW TO SUBMIT DESIGNS FOLLOWS BELOW AS WELL.
Templates
- Photoshop Users
Nike Dunk High, Nike Dunk Low and Nike Air Force 1 Low templates are all included in a single zip file which needs to be extracted to retain the files. If you need a program to do such a thing, we recommend WINRAR which is free. Your computer should come packaged with a basic program though.
Templates (Right Click, Save As)
- MS Paint, Gimp, Ulead and anybody but Photoshop UsersClick the links below to open the images in a new window and save them to your computer.
How To Use Templates
Photoshop Users: The templates are PSD files which include each and every panel of the shoe. To add color the panels simply click the layer within the menu for the panel you want to add color to. Then select the entire area by holding CTRL and clicking on the layer within the menu. Once the layer is selected and outlined with a broken line, select the color you want and fill in the area with the paint bucket or a custom design. Go about doing the same for each layer.
MS Paint, Gimp, Ulead and anybody but Photoshop Users: Unlike the PSD files for Photoshop users, you’re templates are basic JPEG images which include a flat image with no layers. To add color to the various sections, select the wand tool and click on the area of the sneaker your interested in modifying. Once selected, choose your color and fill in the area with the paint bucket, paint brush or a graphic of your choice. Do the same for each area you want to add color to.
Be Creative But Realistic With Your Designs
We urge you to expand your minds and create what you would image to be the next big release, but at the same time, try and be realistic with your designs. Inotherwords, we don’t suggest including any official branding from companies or sports teams within your designs as this is something you wouldn’t normally see on a sneaker unless such a brand teamed up for a collaborative release. Instead, base your color palette on your inspiration and lets the colors tell the story. If you really looking to impress us, if your color palette has no inspiration, provide some cool names for the colors you selected, like Glass Blue, Fresh Water, Tiffany, etc.
How To Submit Designs
Send designs to SneakerObsession@Gmail.com with the subject line “Would You Rock Em”.
