Friday Night Match Up On Hold

March 29, 2008 · Written By: Joe - 0 Comments

The daily readers on Sneaker Obsession may have noticed that the Friday Night Match Up has been M.I.A. for a few weeks now. This is mainly do to the fact that the writer who was working on this project has vanished. As to where he went or what actually happened we arent really sure but The Friday Night Match Up has not come up in about 3 weeks. I would like to inform you that the segment will continue again on April 4th. I will be bringing you a fresh new writer to carry out this segment and continue bringing you those fresh fits from head to toe every week. If you would like us to match up a fit for a pair of kicks you may have, or a hat, or shirt or whatever, always feel free to send your requests to us. Ladies, this means you too. Just cause a guy is doing the segment doesnt mean we cant put together an outfit for the ladies too. You can contact us here. Once again sorry for the hold up and you can expect everything back to normal next friday April 4th.

‘Sinner’ Air Force One Custom Sneakers

Sinner Air Force One Custom Sneakers

Our favorite Aussie is back once again with a pair of custom sneakers that are sure to break some necks. Continuing with his newly adapted graffiti style, Sekure D blessed a fresh pair of Nike AF1s with his mighty talent. Being dubbed the ‘Sinner’ AF1’s the sneakers include the colors midnight black, blood red and haze grey. Honestly, i dont even know what to say about these. Sekure D’s work is defiantly unique and when its all said and done you are pretty much presented with a work of art that leaves you speechless. You find yourself just staring at the detail put into them and appreciating the artwork which they display. What i do really like about these though is the fact Sekure covered the middle in black, it for sure helps break up the colors in my opinion. And the fade on the swoosh, defiantly on point. If your interested in purchasing these visit the shop on the Sekure D website. They are available in a size 9.5 and as with all the customs by Sekure D, these are 1 of a kind and will never be duplicated.

Mission Death From Above

Death From Above Custom Sneaker Flyer

I hate to take away from the way artists SBTG and PHU have promoted this so i am going to quote them both on this one. “Setting allies with SBTG, Phu presents to you, a kamikaze mission “Death from Above”. A fictitious battle between 2 rival airborne squadrons. The Death Seeker AF1s and the Phantom Mirage AM90s. A one time show down, 8 fighters per squadron. Bombs drop March 30th, 10pm NYC time.” If you havent figured it out SBTG and PHU have gone head to head in designing a custom sneaker. Both sneakers follow a theme of the old fighter jets, all painted up with the teeth on the front and everything. The detail put into both designs are top notch, as it always is coming from these two artists. The sneakers will be limited to 8 pairs each and will only be available through the Royalefam Shop March 30th, 10pm NYC Time. Follow the jump for more pictures and details about prices and etc.

UBIQ EL: Lazy x Darbotz collaboration

UBIQ EL Lazy Barbotz Custom Sneaker

Now heres a pair of custom sneakers which are a little different then the custom Dunks and AF1s you are use to seeing daily. This is a pair of UBIQ EL which are a tag team job by the infamous artists Lazy and Darbotz. What i love most about these are the fact that they are something different. Not that i dont like what i see on the market daily, but i do like a variety myself. The UBIQ eL is a shoe which doesnt end up in the custom market all that often and what Lazy and Darbotz did here makes this classy shoe even more classier, if thats possible. Darbotz worked on the graphics on the box and did the screen printing on the insoles, both of which i have to say amazes me. The detail in the two designs goes to show that Darbotz put a lot of time and effort into the two pieces and the final outcome is for sure something you can take a few minutes to appreciate. Lazy on the other hand worked on the design covering the strap of the shoe. It may not look like much at a glance but a closet view displays a very detailed design which is actually hand carved into the strap itself by Lazy. Lazy’s tag under the UBIQ label looks right at home too. They will be exclusively sold at Know It Nothing which is located in Singapore. Follow the jump for some more pictures.

White Sox Custom New Era Hat

Man, Tysun and the guys over at Rock-N-Jocks in Ohio keep on banging out fresh custom New Era fitteds one right after the other. This time around its a custom White Sox fitted hat which is all camel brown with a maroon/burgundy bill. The embroidered white sox logo is burgundy with white sox letters embroidered in white. The back of this hat has “SOX” embroidered also in burgundy. I got this hat myself and its a nice fit, the colors are smooth and make a nice match for that chocolate or khaki color fit you may have. Limited to a total of 30 exclusively at Rock-N-Jocks.
