Saturday Morning Commercials – Reebok Pump Series

saturday-morning-commercials

Due to the unfortunate event of the passing of my father (RIP) some of our special weekly segments had been put on hold for a few weeks, such as the Saturday Morning Commercials. Now that I have finally started to get things in order I am pleased to present you with a brand new series of commercials to bring back and get Saturday Morning Commercials going again.

Yesterday I presented you with the Colette x Reebok Pump, one of twenty sneakers being designed to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the Reebok Pump. In tribute to the Pump I have put together the Reebok Pump Series for this segment of Saturday Morning Commercials. The series features a total of nine commercials, seven of which are part of the Pump Up and Air Out campaign which featured athletes such as Dennis Rodman, Dominique Wilkins, Boomer Esiason, Bill Walton and Dave Johnson. Greg Norman, the legendary golfer is also featured in one of the videos with a pair of Reebok Pump golf shoes and athletes such as Wilkins and Doc Rivers with coaches such as Pat Riley and Bryon Scott appear in another video. As an added bonus to go along with these Reebok Pump Up and Air Out commercials we have also included a few more Reebok Pump commercials.

Official Barack Obama Basketball Sneakers

Mitchell Rose, a Brooklyn, NY resident is looking to change the footwear industry like Barack Obama changed politics (Quote curiosity of NBC). The former New York Golden Goves boxer has been on the grind for the past couple of months with a brand new hustle, pushing what he calls the official Barack Obama basketball sneakers.

Mitchell says Obama’s love and passion for the game of basketball inspired him to design and actually produce the Barack Obama basketball sneakers which he feels even the President himself would rock. The shoes obviously takes a few design cues from Nike and Jordan Brand. An Air Jordan 9 mid-sole can clearly been seen on high top sneakers along with a silhouette of Obama (which glows in the dark) placed on the side of the upper which reminds of a Chuck Taylor patch or the branding usually found on an And1 sneaker. The shoe lace holders on the upper are made up to look like boxing gloves cause according to Mitchell Rose Barack Obama is a “fighter the way he beat up Hilliary Clinton and Senator McCain.” 44 is printed on the tongue of the sneakers to represent Obama being the 44th present and Obama is printed across the heel of the sneakers.

We’re gonna leave our personal comments to the side on these as there is enough hate already being spread about them all over the web. Click here to check out a video of Mitchell Rose talking about the sneakers as well as a clip of Ghostface and Ed Lover cracking jokes on the sneakers. If your at all interested in ordering the sneakers check out Rose Knockout Products.

Maestro Knows visits the Nike Campus

We havent posted many of the webisodes from Maestro Knows in the past, eventhough we watch them ourselves, but Episode 9 from Season 2 is something i think all of you will enjoy. Maestro was recently out in Portland to do some work and while he was out there he met up with Jared, a designer for Nike apparel who gave him an exclusive tour of the Nike Campus and allowed him to customize the Nike AW77 Fleece. Needless to say, the Nike Campus is insane. The view is beautiful and the layout of the land and the buildings which occupy the land is something else. We dont wanna give the whole video away so just check out the video above. Its a good watch, believe me, Maestro does got quality editing for a video filmed entirely with him holding a hand-held camera and hes ques in the music perfectly.

And for the record, that smile on Maestro’s face is like his signature smile. Whenever you see this guy hes always smiling. Just happy to be doing what hes doing and enjoying life.

DJ AM Sneaker Collection Video

In a honor of DJ AM, the biggest sneakerhead celebrity the world knows, we would like to present to you this video from when DJ AM did a segment with MTV News showing off his sneaker collection. The video takes you upstairs into two sneaker closets as well as down into the garage where DJ AM just has boxes stacked to the ceiling with sneakers. He was the type that wore them too, no matter how limited they were. A true sneakerhead who had a serious passion for the industry.

At the time of this video, which was shot in mid September 2006 i believe, it was reported DJ AM had over 600+ Nike, Reebok and Adidas sneakers. Unfortunately in the video DJ AM only shows off a few sneakers like the Eminem Jordan 4s and a 1 of a kind Air Force 1 which Nike designed specially for him with his logo on it but atleast he gives you the chances to go inside his home and see just how serious he is about sneakers.
