Nike Air Penny Hybrid – Designed by BP

Cody Harris a.k.a BP, is a very talented man when it comes to desining computer generated sneaker designs. Flexing his talent some more Cody recently put together a Nike Air Penny Hybrid. Cody admits that hes not a big fan of the Nike Air 1/2 Cent and just felt like the whole design and shape of the sneaker just wasnt right so he decided to design his own Penny fusion.

In my opinion Cody did a great job, and has designed something which i personally find a lot more appealing then the 1/2 Cent. At a quick glance the sneakers may just look like an updated version of the Air Penny III, with an added Nike Swoosh, but once you get into it and break it down you can really see whats been taken from each Penny model.

After the jump we have a statement by Cody about the sneakers explain what parts of each Penny model he used, along with more pictures of the sneakers in various color forms and in a comparison next to the Air 1/2 Cent. I went with the Penny line, even though pics recently surfaced of the 1/2 cent….I may be in the minority, but I think the 1/2 cent is a very akward looking shoe. The shape doesn’t seem right, and I am just not a fan of the design as a whole.

With that being said, I set out to make a more appealing fusion that would do the Penny line justice both aesthetically and performance wise.

I took pieces from each shoe in the line and put them together in a way that I liked. Some pieces play a major roll in the design, like the foam from the IIIs, and some a very minor role. The upper is basically a modified black nubuck Penny I, some stitching has been removed for a cleaner look, and some eyelets have been reworked as well. There is obviously heavy influence from the Penny III, as it is my favorite from the line. The sole is undoubtedly from the Foamposite One, but has also received a few tweeks to the carbon fiber and the heel. You can see the 3M piping racing across the upper from the Penny II, and I topped it off with a jewel swoosh from the Penny I.

The medial side was going to have heavy influence from the Penny IV, but unfortunately I wasn’t able to come across good enough pics to show that.

A classic Black/Royal colorway with silver accents and quality materials, combined with Air Max in the heel and forefoot Zoom reinsure you that the Penny line is still alive…

Jordan Sneaker Family Tree

Now this is a cool piece of sneaker art. This piece was created by I Love Dust, a UK based company who also happened to design the artwork on the Jordan x Levis 501 collaboration. Just like the artwork on the sneaker box this design is very cool and would be a great piece for a true Jordan sneaker head. The tree design shows every Jordan starting from the very first pair up to the new 23’s. Every Jordan sneaker has the year it came out listed under it, followed by the number. The print is available in limited numbers, printed gold and comes printed on fine tissue paper. Check out the Jordan x Levis 501 box artwork after the jump. As always at Sneaker Obsession we love seeing artwork and computer designs from fellow readers here. Sneakerheads generally always have sneakers on their mind and when one puts that done on a piece of canvas, paper, computer screen or whatever it may be, that shows us a true passion for the sneaker community. Here we have some work by an artist named Arthur Barrios. Arthur is an 18 year old New Orleans, LA resident who has been painting for about 7yrs now. Obviously Arthur is a sneakerhead who enjoys his Jays. Arthur does sneaker art from paintings to drawings and can pretty much do whatever is needed. Freshly Cut Dunk Design

Every so often we like to show you Photoshop sneaker designs which were either done by us here at Sneaker Obsession or our readers. This is a design i did which i call Freshly Cut. Just sitting around one night playing around in Photoshop with some sneaker templates i came up with this design. The idea comes from fresh cut grass/bushes. Hashwednesday sneaker art and designs

Check out this amazing piece of sneaker art above. The vector sneaker design was done by a 23yr old artist that goes by the name of hashwednesday. Hashwednesday is a general artist from the Philipines who just happens to love sneakers. Besides just laying the artistic ability down on paper or a computer hashwednesday also customizes clothing, shirts, sneakers, whatever you desire. As you can see by the shot of the custom sneaker hashwednesdays style reminds you of the early 80s graffiti era. King Cobra Dunk Design

I give you the King Cobra Dunks. These are something completely random which i did. Playing around in Photoshop one night with a pair of Dunks i was thinking about what i would like to see used more often in customs. My answer was obviously snake skin, or just animal skin in general. Now, im not one to really go and kill an animal, but theres just something about real animal skin that yells out “FRESH” to me. The King Cobra snake has to be one of my favorite snakes so i went with a colorway that somewhat resembles a King Cobra. Along with a pattern i tried to make which is the same as the skin on a King Cobra.

Viatmin Water Formula 50 Dunks

This is a Adobe Photoshop design which was done by a friend of mine. The idea is based on Formula 50 Vitamin Water. The design has been passed around a little bit and the feedback has been mixed. A lot of people do not like the idea cause they are based off a product which is endorsed by 50 Cent. Some dont like the idea cause theres just to much purple. Me personally, i think grape/purple is a cool color sometimes so im liking these myself. I could see myself picking up a pair if they ever came out with a pair like these. Aslong as they didnt say 50 Cent anywhere on them, cause i am say i am a fan of his.

Social Gang Tiffany Nike SB Dunk Cake

True sneaker dedication right here. Social Gang is a group which hales from the United Kingdom and they put on an event called “Cake and Liquor”. At their latest event this is the Nike SB Dunk cake they had which has been dubbed the Tiffany SB. Cake and Liquor is an event which Social Gang states is “an event dedicated to the lifestyles and iconic events mixed and merged within the subcultures of arts, music, toys, fashion and sneakers. ” Check out the images of this cake and the quality that was put into baking it and designing it. Sneaker Obsession Nike Dunk Designs

I had some down time not to long ago with nothing at all to do. Usually when that happens i end up playing around in Photoshop with something random. I had this AF1 Template and Nike Dunk Template so i designed to whip up a few designs real nothing. Nothing serious here, just a little something something. If you have any designs of your own which you have created feel free to send them to me and ill include them on the page with your info.

The firs pair is a pair of AF1 Camo sneakers i designed. The camo is suppose to be sort of like a canvas material. I thought they looked sorta fresh. The 2nd ones you see are a pair of Pepsi Nike Dunks I created. Can’t go wrong with the Pepsi colorways, red, white and blue. The colors fit together perfectly, i would most deff cop a pair of Pepsi Edition Nike Dunks. The third ones down there are a Monster Energy Drink Edition Nike Dunks. The Monster lime green is a nice bright color and its pops out with the black. Monster is my favorite energy drink so it was only right i did a Monster Edition.
