Reebok Pump Omni Lite ‘Dee Brown’ Re-Release

In 1991, Dee Brown of the Boston Celtics was announced as the NBA Slam Dunk Contest Winner with a stunning no-look dunk that simply amazed spectators, judges and competitors. Not only did this put Dee Brown’s name in the spotlight but it also gave Reebok a little bit of a boost when it comes to promotion due to the fact Dee won the contest wearing the Reebok Pump Omni Lite, his choice of signature sneakers and would “pump up” the sneakers before driving the lane in each round for his Dunks. That slight gesture, along with Dee winning it all at the end, was just enough for fans to instantly take a liking to the Dee Brown Pump Omni Lite.
Back in 1991 Reebok released the Pump Omni Lite ‘Dee Brown’ in a limited run of 1991 pairs in honor of Dee taking home the Slam Dunk Contest Award. Each pair was individually numbered on the back of the tongue. Fans scrambled in hopes of getting a pair but many were unlucky to snatch a pair up. Many who did get a pair when they originally released were not looking to sell them and not many popped up for sale from resellers. However, a few have started to make their way to consignment shops and online markets since sneaker collecting has become a lot more of a hobby today.
17 years later in 2008 Reebok re-released the sneakers as retro, again in a limited run. Just as they did back in 1991 the sneakers became a popular seller and sold out at retailers nationwide. Due to this being the second round of the sneakers, and there were more resellers around in ‘08 then ‘91 numerous pairs ended up for sale on eBay for slightly higher prices then retail.
Here we stand now, 18 years later, and Reebok has once again re-issued the Dee Brown Reebok Pumps. No word on exactly how many pairs have been produced but UBIQ has the black and white colorways in stock now and ready to ship for a price of $100. If you never had a chance to cop these, or are looking to pick up another pair cause yours are beat jump on this quick cause once the word gets out they will go like hot cakes.

Info Regarding Reebok Pump Bringback Edition

A lot of you have been sending emails with questions regarding the Reebok Pump20 project and the Reebok Pump Bringback Edition so lets make it clear here exactly what is planned to happen within the coming weeks.
Each of the 20 shops involved in the Pump20 project will be releasing special Reebok Pumps which the shops have personally designed, most of which use unique colorways or elements not found on the original Reebok Pump released 20 years ago. These models will be limited to a total of 31 pairs which each pair indivually numbered.
Alongside those each of the 20 boutiques will also get the Reebok Pump Bringback Edition. This year the Pump Bringback Series features the Reebok Pump in the two original color scheme released in 1989. Each of the 20 shops will get a limited supply of 29 pairs of each colorway. These will also be individually numbered on the backside of the tongue, along with Bringback Edition printed on the tag.
So in total each shop will get a total of 89 Pumps, to resemble the year 1989, the year the Pump debuted. 31 pairs of their specially designed model for the Pump20 collaboration, and 58 pairs of the original Reebok Pump colorway (29 for each colorway).
Hope this has made it clear for everybody out there now. Thanks to DJ Senatore, the worlds largest Pump collector (160+ Reebok Pumps) and owner of Rare Breed Footwear in Long Branch, New Jersey for the pictures of the samples he received along with the jacket. Spread the word and remember where you heard it first!!

24 Kilates x Reebok Pump

Day by day a different shop involved in the Reebok Pump20 project has released either some previews or a full on shot of the Pumps which they have designed. The latest to present the community with some images is 24 Kilates from Barcelona, Spain, the shop responsible for a pretty popular New Balance 1700 design that i was dying to get my hands on and never did.
24 Kilates opted to use one of the two original colorways debuted on the Reebok Pump 20years ago for their version, the black/white/orange color scheme. However, instead of using black leather for the construction of the upper 24 Kilates swapped in some buttery smooth black suede. That simple change was just not enough in itself though. From there some ideas were thrown around and the idea came about to show the world the innovation technology that makes up the Pump unit. Translucent paneling has been added into the upper and tongue to allowing consumer to see inside parts of the sneakers and actually view how the Reebok Pump Technology works.
The 24 Kilates x Reebok Pump will be released exclusively on November 20th, 2009 only at 24 Kilates. Click here to check out more pictures of the sneakers.
Espionage x Reebok Pump

We know a lot of you are patiently awaiting to see pictures of the rest of the Reebok Pumps designed in honor of the 20th Anniversary of the Pump. Out of the twenty shops taking part in this project we have so far taken a look at eight. Now we’re gonna follow up with number nine here, a Pump designed by the Sydney, Australia boutique Espionage.
The Espionage x Reebok Pump is dressed nicely with a combo of smooth black leather and glossy patent leather carbon fiber. To break the black up a bit accents of white were added in, along with a slight touch of red. According to reports from SneakerFreaker the white mid-sole includes a glow-in-the-dark speckle pattern in white which is invisible to the naked eye when its not in its glowing state. Wrapping up the sneakers, and making sure you know who is responsible for this design is a pair of Espionage lace locks, a small red Espionage tag on the upper, a keychain with the boutiques name and logo, and the name once again printed across the heel.
No official release date has been announced at this time for Espionage x Reebok Pump, however numerous shops involved in this project will be releasing their limited supply on November 20th, 2009, so you should be able to expect a release around then.

Reebok Pump Friends & Family Edition
Having all the right connections in the sneaker industry opens the door to many things that many people would die for. One of the many advantages of course is getting sneakers extremely early, or getting sneakers which will never be released to the general public. One such person who has connections like this, as you should all know by now is DJ Clark Kent.
One of the latest pickups which DJCK got is a Reebok Pump designed in honor of the Pump20 campaign which honors and celebrates the 20th Anniversary of the Reebok Pump. There is nothing all to special about the design compared to previous models we have seen. They use one of the OG colorways originally used on the Pump when it debuted, which is something we have seen on one of the Size? x Reebok Pump models.
However, what makes these sneakers rare and unique is the fact that the general public cant get them and on the back of the tongue theres a tag which states “Friends & Family Edition” and “You have received 00″. Limited releases like these are always a must have among collectors and with the sneakers clearly stating “Friends & Family Edition” you already know these bad boys could fetch some high figures on the bay.

Stolen Riches x Reebok Pump Preview

And the Reebok Pump previews continue, this time coming from the only Canada based boutique to take part in the Reebok Pump 20th Anniversary Collection, Stolen Riches holding it down in Toronto. Along with being the only shop in Canada to take part in the project this is also the first collaboration for Stolen Riches involving a major brand such as Reebok.
Due to the harsh winters Canada usually encounters Stolen Riches decided to design their version of the Reebok Pump with a style that could be worn in the mist of a cold and snowy winter. There will be no worries when wearing these during the rough elements of the winter as the grey pinstripe upper has been teflon treated to repeal water and snow, and the inner lining is constructed from red leather to ensure a snug and warm fit. Making sure your feet dont get to warm though and start to sweat is a black perforated leather tongue. Upon their release the sneakers will included three pairs of laces; black, red and yellow, and will come with two Reebok keychains, one which has Reebok branding with the Stolen Riches logo and another which resembles the yellow Reebok Pump unit with the area code of Toronto (416) printed on it along with a silhouette of the CN Tower.
At this time no official release date for the Stolen Riches x Reebok Pump have been announced, however the collection is set to start releasing on November 20th, 2009, so you should expect a releasing soon after that. Just like all the other Pumps in this collection this pair will be limited to 31 pairs.
