Solebox x Reebok Omni Zone Pump

Thursday, August 5

solebox-reebok-omni-zone-pump

Are illuminated sneakers set to become the newest trend in footwear again? Yesterday we saw the Oryon x TRON: Legacy x Adidas Heat Check TS which will light up the night thanks to the Oryon’s polyurethane lamps, and now we’ve got a look at an upcoming pair of Reebok’s which also include some glowing features.

Working alongside Hikmet and his team at Solebox, Reebok produced a pair of illuminated Omni Zone Pump’s. This isn’t the first time Solebox and Reebok have incorporated light-up features in a pair of sneakers. Such an effect was used on the Reebok Pump which Solebox designed for the 20th Anniversary of the shoe. This time though the element is used in a much wider area. During daylight hours or whenever you decide to turn the light off, the sneakers look pretty simple with a Black base, subtle accents of Grey and a White mid-sole and a red lining. However, that simple look can quickly turn into an attention getter when the tiny bulbs placed within the side panel are turned on to give off a Red glow behind the clear side panel.

It’s to early at this time to announce an exact release date but Solebox and Reebok are hoping for an release sometime early on in 2011.

Heineken x Reebok Pump Omni Lite

Monday, June 7

heineken-x-reebok-pump-omni-lite

Heineken and Nike SB made some noise back in 2003 when they teamed up to produce a pair of SB Dunk Low’s in Heineken’s signature green and white color scheme with their iconic red star emboridered onto the heel. The sneakers today are considered to be “grails” among SB collectors and are known to fetch prices as high as $500-600 through resellers on eBay and $800 through consignment shops.

Looking to brew up another highly sought after sneaker, Heineken reaches out to Reebok to rework their colors on the Pump Omni Lite. Smooth leather in Heineken green is applied throughout most of the upper while the toe, heel and parts of the side panel are constructed from white perforated leather which uses a mixture of standard holes and star shaped cutouts. The Heineken star can also been seen emboridered along the side of the upper in it’s original shade of red, complimented by additional red accents on the lining and the Pump.

From what we know, thanks to FoundMissing, there’s been a total of 20 of these Heineken x Reebok Pump Omni Lite’s produced, all of which were distributed throughout Canada. It’s believed that all 20 were granted to some of Reebok’s higher end retailers in Canada and were not actually sold to consumers. With that being said, the odds of getting a pair are slim to none, so your best of to just click here to check out the photos.

Reebok Freestyle Hi “Snow Camo”

Friday, June 4

reebok-freestyle-hi-snow-camo

With Summer having just unofficially begun last weekend, everybody’s preparing for the hot, humid days ahead of them which they’ll be spending on the beaches, kickin it by the pools and possibly catching the sites as they go on a little vaca for some R&R. Needless to say, snow is the last thing on anybody’s mind. Unless of course you’re Reebok.

Looking like the red-headed step child in a family of bright, trendy colored releases, Reebok offers a new Freestyle Hi featuring a snow camo design. While you do see some snow camo tees and shorts during the Spring/Summer months, this specific camouflage pattern is mainly used during the Winter. Since in fact it was created for urban warfare (or hunting) in snow covered environments. That’s not to say the sneakers aren’t nice though, they just seem a little out of place when compared to other Freestyle Hi’s like the Laser Beam Pack we took a look at the other day.

If you feel you can rock with em even though it’s the Summer, or if you wanna cop now and hold over until the time is right, ladies can grab a pair now through DrJays.
