Kobe Bryant Jumps Aston Martin – Not Real

YouTube Preview Image

I am sure most of you have seen the new Nike commercial of Kobe Bryant jumping over a lovely Aston Martin. The commercial was made to advertise the Nike Hyperdunk, which will be the lightest and strongest sneaker ever developed by Nike. Once the video hit the web and Youtube the messages boards were flooded with questions such as “Can that possible be real?”. Right off the bat you should know this was not real at all and we all digitally edited. Welcome to Hollywood people where just about anything is possible at the end of the day. Kobe could of jumped an Aston Martin and an H2 at the same time and they could make it seem real. Anyway, Kobe made a statement during an interview the other night at the Lakers vs Hornets game that the video is indeed not real at all and was all done thanks to Hollywood. We included the video above incase you have not seen it yet and after the jump you can find a video clip of the interview by Kobe himself from the other nights game.

Meet The ShoeKeeper

The ShoeKeeper has ended up on forums all over the web. The video excerpt is from Polk DVD and in it the ShoeKeeper shows you his collection of sneakers which contain some pretty exclusive kicks. Personally i dont know how i feel about showing your collection off on a DVD which will be seen by the masses. Snapping some pictures and posting them on a site is one thing, but to have people see your whole house and setup is another thing. Besides that though the collection is nice, some say its the nicest but i cant say all that. Im not gonna front, theres mos def some heat i would love to have, specially those first Jays, but when it comes to “nicest” thats just saying a lot. Id have to think about it for awhile. Either way, check out the video after the jump.

Sneaker Confidential
Sneaker Confidential is a documentary on sneakers filmed and aried by CBC. The film is an entertaining look into the history of the beloved running shoe. Sneaker Confidential provides interviews with sneaker designers, athletes and sneakerheads just like you and I and goes over things such as why sneakers were made and how they are marketed today. You will also catch a glimpse of the Sneaker Pimps World Tour, a visit to the world famous Flight Club in NYC, a tour of the New Balance sneaker factory and even a piece of a top designer doing up a pair of custom sneakers on the spot. DJ MC Serch even tells a story about a time he got mugged for his sneakers. Its an interesting video and i watched the whole thing the first time through. The video is a little over 40minutes long, check it out on the CBC Website.

Sneakerology 101

Sneakerology 101

Sneakerology 101. Did you ever think it was possible? Carnegie Mellon University which is located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania has started the first college level course which is being called Sneakerology 101. The class teaches students about the history of the sneaker industry dating back to its original roots over 30 years ago, to what it has grown to be today. The course covers sneakers from every corner of the industry, from basketball sneakers to custom sneakers, down to how sneakers have been an icon in hip hop culture. This class with also go over things such as the book “Whered you get those” by the legendary Bobbito Garcia and will also use various internet sneaker sites as reference. Dont just think this is some class to go and BS about sneakers without any major work, there are projects the students must complete such as designing a sneaker using the knowledge they acquired within the class. If this idea will spark ideas for other colleges around the country we dont know, but we can only hope that others will look at this course and acknowledge the fact that the sneaker industry is major today, and that many future artists and designers sitting in class are very interested in designing sneakers for major companies or a company they may develop themselves down the road. Give your students the chance to learn and work towards something they want to pursue in life, bring Sneakerology 101 to your university and give your future designers a chance to learn what the industry is all about. Those who may live around the PA area and are interested in taking Sneakerology 101 you can contact Carnegie Mellon University to sign up for the next session which is set for Spring 2009.

Get The Channel Zero Customs Now!!

Channel Zero Dunks

This is big news for all of you who have taken a lot of interest in the Channel Zero Dunks which were created by Revive Customs. The man himself has just informed us that due to the demand for these sneakers through the site he will now be taking orders to make more pairs. This time around the customer has the option to decide if they want a Nike Dunk to be the base like the originals or if they would rather have another sneaker as the base such as a Air Force One or possibly a pair of Air Max. The choice is yours, but Revive Customs would prefer to work with some other templates so if you have another sneaker you would like the Channel Zero theme to be designed on step right up. Each sneaker will be a tad bit different then the original customs which were designed, reason being is that it will keep each pair unique. The Channel Zero theme will be used, just altered in a way to make it truely 1 of a kind. For more info, including pricing check out the Revive Customs website and get at him to get on the list. Please though, serious inquires only. This is business people, no jokers.
