Puma MY-41 by Mihara Yasuhiro

Mihara Yasuhiro, a familiar name when it comes to Puma collaborations, presents us with a look at his latest creation to release as part of the Spring/Summer 2009 Collection. Mihara has has created the MY-41 shoes using an interesting design which will be noticed the most around the heel and side of the sole unit where the layers appear to be dripping into eachother. Sort of remindes me of a wet paint look. To go along with the red, white and blue design a set of matching laces were included. Mihara also design a high top version as well which we will get to soon.

Puma Key Quilt – Fall 2009 Release

If you havent seen enough sneakers with straps yet let us introduce the Puma Key Quilt. The newly designed sneaker by Puma which includes a small strap across the laces is scheduled as a Fall 2009 release. At that time Puma will release four colorways of the Key Quilt, one of which will be produced in a low top design. This year is sure looking like a year in which straps are gonna be in heavy rotation.

Puma ‘Japanese Monsters Pack’

Since we took a look at the Puma First Round ‘Mecha King’ from the upcoming Puma ‘Japanese Monsters Pack’ we might as well jump in with a look at the rest of the sneakers in the pack. Inspired by classic Japanese Monster/Horror movies from the 70s and 80s Puma put together five sneakers to make up the pack. Base models such as the First Round, Mid, Clyde, and Stepper were used in the designing phase. Each sneaker in the pack uses its own unique styling and materials to represent the monster which they portray and even includes the “Skills” and “Attributes” of said monster on the back of the tongues. Shown above is the Ape King, followed by the Moth King, Terror King, Lizoid King and the Mecha King which are all pictured after the jump. Besides for the actual designing of the sneakers to represent each character Puma went ahead and also printed the name of each one under the Puma text logo on the side of the upper and threw on some tongue tags displaying a picture of the monster.
This limited edition Puma ‘Japanese Monsters Pack’ will be hitting select Puma retailers at end of February, beginning of March. Make sure you follow the jump to take a look at each one.
Puma First Round ‘Stars Pack’

Puma presents us with another pack in which the company will be releasing this year, known as the “Star Pack”. Including two Puma First Round shoes the Star Pack will consist of a white and black color schemes both of which use designs of various stars on the upper. Although the Star Pack may be a general release by Puma it looks to me like the design of the shoes leans more so towards the ladies rather then the guys.

Puma ‘Japanese Monsters Pack’ – Mecha King

Reebok isnt the only company these days putting together a Monster Pack. Puma also has a monster pack in the works, one which depicts Japanese Monsters. Previewed here is one of the models part of the Puma ‘Japanese Monsters Pack’, dubbed the ‘Mecha King’. Using a pair of Puma First Round sneakers the design features a shiny chrome finish on the upper with a black mid-sole and red accents on the heel, eyelets, liner, tongue and stitching on the mid-sole. The out-sole of the Puma First Round ‘Mecha King’ appears to have a chrome/metallic finish to it as well. The Puma tag on the tongue includes a design to tie in with the theme showing the actual monster which the sneakers portray and under the Puma branding on the side of the shoes it says ‘Mecha King’.
The Puma ‘Japanese Monster Pack‘ and the Mecha King will be a limited release which will hit retailers towards the end of February, beginning of March. Follow the jump for more detailed pictures.
