Fresh Prince of Bel-Air West Philly First Round Pack

First off, before i go any further, lets get it right. The famous TV show ‘The Fresh Prince of Bel Air’ is from the 90s people. I dont know how many times i have heard people talking about the bright vibrant colors Will Smith you use to wear on the show and refer to it as 80’s fashion. Now that we got that straight lets take a look at this Fresh Prince of Bel-Air West Philly First Round Pack by Puma. Its obvious to see that bright colorful clothing is taking off once again as it did in the early 90s so Puma got together with The Fresh Prince to bring you back to those good ol’ days. The West Philly First Round sneakers come in white, black and pink and features a graffiti style which is along the same lines of what you see in the opening credits of the show. The tongue of the sneaker says The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air in the famous graffiti font and on the back of the left sneaker it says West and on the right, yup you got it, Philly. Also, under the Puma logo on the side of the sneakers it says Fresh Prince. The pack includes a neon green Agitation watch too which looks like it was snatched right off the arm of The Fresh Prince. Will Smith was known for setting a fashion trend in the early 90s through the show, so dont miss out on copping these instant classics. Will Smith was what Kanye is today. A trend setter. Only thing this, here we are over 10 years later and people are still following The Fresh Prince trend. Will people still care about the Kanye trend in 10years to come? We shall see. These sneakers are expect to drop May 17th at select Puma retailers. Be sure to check out the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Puma Clyde Pack which gives a different approach to the Fresh Prince era. Puma x Bodega ‘Spy II’ Hi

Spy Hi II 01

The fellas out in Boston from Bodega got together with Puma to bring you this Sky II Hi, being dubbed Spy II Hi. Inspired from the classic comic ‘Spy vs Spy’, youll notice features on these shoes which pay homage to the Cold War era, which is when the comic was released. At first you may not catch the little touches here and there, things such as morse code, bullet holes, dynamite swingtags and even a stash pocket hidden in the tongue. The hidden pocket includes a secret message to decode, that leads to a safe, which leads to something top secret. What could it be? We dont know yet. When designing a sneaker around a ’spy’ releated theme you have to keep things simple to the point they dont jump out and scream at you, and i think Bodega handled it nicely. What good is a spy who is noticed at first glance? To actually enjoy these sneakers and the design put behind them you need to take a minute to actually look over them and appreciate what Bodega and Puma did here. Images are thanks to Sneaker Freaker, visit their site to read a full interview with Bodega about the Spy Hi II.

Crooked Tongues Puma XR Runner

rob-l-custom-puma.jpg

In the past we have showed you a few sneakers by customizer Rob L who usually tends to work with various patterns on Pumas. Im a fan of Robs work and think he bangs out a pair of sick customs whenever he puts the creative juices to work. Rob is a member over on the Crooked Tongues Forum so when it was time for Crooked Tongues to release a new custom in the store it was only right that they went with the man Rob himself. The sneaker of choice was a Puma XR Runner which was done up in a Green/White/Black colorway. Rob has a nice touch when it comes to patterns and the green pattern laid out on these is no exception. These sneakers are so fresh you would think they came from Puma directly. Only 10 pairs were made and you can grab them over at Crooked Tongues. Nice work as always Rob.

Puma Poison Pack

First thing that came to mind when i saw these were The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air. Not that they are that 80s style kind of sneaker but because the ideas of these are inspired by tropical frogs. When i heard that the first thing that i thought of was the saying “Its about to get frogging in here cause im ready to leap!”. Which is something Will Smith once said in the Fresh Prince. Besides that lets get down to the sneakers here. This is the Puma Clyde Poison Pack and the pack contains 3 sneakers. The idea behind these is coming from 3 different poisonous tropical frogs. Available sometime next year in 2008 you will be able to grab these at Apartment 16.
