Puma Roader Hi – White/Green

Born during the vulcanized era at Puma, this style originated back in 2003 as the Roadster Hi, a name inspired by roller skating and satin jackets from the ’70s. After their release though Puma was forced to imply with a name change, or drop the sneakers from their lineup due to legal reasons. Knowing they had a classic on their hands the last thing Puma wanted to do was scrap the Roadster Hi, so they dumped the “ST” from the name and started selling the sneakers again under the name Roader. The Puma Roader Hi.

With the market pleading for clean, simple, basic sneakers Puma felt it was the perfect time to bring back the Puma Roader Hi as a retro, with the original styling the Roadster Hi was known for. One of the first colorways to release this season is this White/Green model which uses a smooth White leather upper followed by White perforated leather on the toe, lace panels and tongue. Accenting the pure White base are hits of Green applied to the tongue tag, heel panel, Puma formstripe and on the pinstripe detailing and included shoelaces.

When it comes to casual styled sneakers Puma is defiantly on top of their game and this Roader Hi proves just that. If you’re interested scoop up a pair for yourself through Finishline for $65.

Puma Phone

Teaming up with Sagem Wireless, a telecommunications company based in France, Puma has become the very first footwear company to jump into the wireless market with their very own mobile phone. Why would a footwear company even attempt to do such a thing? Simply because they can, and it’s fun to put your own spin on today’s popular devices. Known as the Puma Phone the device includes a few unique features which are you won’t find in other phones like your very own pet Puma named Dylan, along with a lot of your standard features like a touchscreen, a calculator, a compass, calendars, and all that good stuff. On the back side of the phone are solar panels which are said to provide 15 minutes of talk time or two hours of music playback for every hour in the sun. Can the phone compete with today’s smartphones like the iPhone, Blackberry and Nexus One? Of course not, but it’s defiantly cool to see something like this from Puma. I’m sure a few diehard Puma fans who just want a basic phone will scoop one up.

Puma Basket “Drive Thru” Pack

Having already released a pack of Basket II’s inspired by soft drinks Puma now moves on to the main course with the Puma Basket “Drive Thru”, a small collection of sneakers carrying color schemes taken from popular fast food restaurants in China.

The Drive Thru Pack consists of three Puma Basket’s in three unique color schemes with each of the three featuring a construction of leather and canvas throughout the upper. One of the three sneakers in the pack sports an obvious Taco Bell inspired colorway of Purple/Yellow/White. The other two however I can’t quite nail down when it comes to where their actual color schemes come from. One is seen in a White/Red/Blue colorway while the other dons a Blue/Yellow/White. If you feel you have an idea on what Drive Thru joint inspired the other two Puma Basket’s please feel free to voice your opinion.

Puma by MIHARAYASUHIRO 10th Anniversary Viral Video – Pumaneko

In honor of they’re decade long collaboration Japanese designed Miharaya Yasuhiro and Puma have released this video preparing us for the launch of the 10th Anniversary Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. The viral video introduces the Pumaneko, which I believe is the name of the character seen posted in the screenshot above, as well as the nickname of the shoes.

Puma Speed Cat 2.9 “Red Bull Racing”

If you checked out the Santoni x Mercedes SLS AMG Driving Shoes I posted a few days ago you may recall how I said I’m a big car guy, and like my driving/racing shoes just as much as I like my Jordans, Dunks and AF1’s. I’m sure we don’t have a large following of readers who are into racing or driving shoes, but after talking to some of you on Twitter I know there’s defiantly quite a few people out who are into F1, WRC and DTM. If you fall into that category, this ones for you.

Puma has been producing driving/racing shoes for quite a number of years now and as anybody who is into racing knows, Puma’s are defiantly one of the most preferred choices among racers. Proving this is an ongoing series between Puma and the Red Bull F1 Racing Team. The duo has already released a number of special edition Puma models together such as a variety of Speed Cats (my personal favorite), an Urban Racer and this Speed Cat 2.9. For this special Red Bull F1 Racing Team edition of the Speed Cat 2.9 Puma produced the sneakers with a black base and strong blue accents on the heel. A few hits of white are seen added into the mix for example on the mid-sole and the Red Bull logo around and the ankle. There’s also a a few touches of red thrown in there.

Like I said, these for sure won’t appeal to the majority but if your an F1 fan and a sneaker collector these may just be a nice little addition to add to the pile. Finishline has em in stock now for $105 if your interested.

WMNS Puma First Round “Tartan”

To round out the month on January Puma released a few new First Round’s for the ladies, one of the being the Leopard version we showed you yesterday and the other being the First Round “Tartan” shown here.

The sneakers feature a variety of materials such as denim on the toe, tongue, lace panels and ankle, red canvas with a tartan pattern on the mid-section, and patent leather on the white Puma stripe. There’s even a few hits of purple on tongue tag, outsole and stitching within the Puma stripe. The shoes are part of Puma’s Spring 2010 Collection and have arrived at select retailers overseas such as Mita. I can’t be to sure on whether or not they will be released in the US.

WMNS Puma First Round “Leopard”

Animal print designs appear to be getting more and more popular these days, specially when it comes to women’s sneakers. Over the weekend we showed you a Snake Skin Nike Vandal produced for the ladies and now we present to you another pair of kicks with a wildlife feel to them.

Exclusively for the ladies Puma introduces the First Round “Leopard”. The sneakers feature a combo of white leather and purple canvas on the upper with a black leopard pattern printed throughout the canvas paneling. Buttery smooth suede is seen laid out on the lace panels, a portion of the heel and on the Puma stripe. If the leopard print on the purple base is enough to catch some onlookers the hits of green thrown in on the tongue tag and around the Puma stripe is sure to do the trick.

Puma First Round “Kiss” – Valentines Day 2010

Earlier today we showed you a Nike Air Force 1 Premium ‘07 designed for the ladies as part of Nike’s Valentines Day releases. Joining in with their own release and their own spin on a Valentines Day themed sneaker Puma presents us with the First Round “Kiss”. The shoes boast a white leather base accented with red on the Puma stripe, shoelaces and on the tongue tag, with metallic silver accents on the lace panels and heel. Giving the sneakers their name is a red “Kiss” graphic on the lateral side of the upper. I’m not quite sure if these are a guys or girls release but according to HighSnobiety the sneakers should be hitting select Puma retailers soon.

WMNS Puma First Round ‘Sparkle Pack’

Showing some love to the ladies out there Puma has just released this two-sneaker pack known as the “Sparkle Pack”. The pack includes two pairs of the Puma First Round, one pair in a black/gold colorway and the other in a white/silver/blue colorup. Both of the shoes sport patent leather uppers with what is said to be a “stylish metallic effect”. Both pairs also come with two sets of laces and a pair of Puma lace locks.

Puma Basket II ‘Soda Pack’

Puma has recently updated their ‘Soda Pack’ which already included a few Puma First Round releases in August. The their most recent addition into this collection Puma choose the Basket II as the model of choice. The colorways of the sneakers are of course inspired by various sodas. The orange/black/white pair represents Fanta, the brown/orange/white A&W Root Beer, red/white is of course for Coca-Cole and the silver/red/white represents Diet Coke.
