Earlier this year back around February or March Fat Joe had announced that he would be getting into the sneaker industry and designing a pair of kicks which would be marketed and priced for the everyday Joe. No pun intended. At the time Joe was going around calling them The Recession and announced they would be sold at two major retailers around the country, K-Mart and Sears.

Now we have the official word from Fat Joe himself that the sneakers are called The Blackout have been designed and produced in collaboration with Protege. Joe, Al Harrington and Stephen Jackson all hit up the Protege Block Party the other day which was thrown at K-Mark in Jonesboro, GA to promote the sneakers and sit in on an autograph signing.

No official release details have been announced and at this time we dont have an exact price but we would imagine they would be no more then $50. Stay tuned for further details and hit the jump to check another shot of the grey/yellow pair displayed above as well as a black/orange pair.
