Nike SB Summer ‘09 Preview
The crew at Vagant have posted up some close up shots of what Nike SB has planned to release as part of their Summer 2009 Collection. We spot the SB Dunk Low, SB Dunk Mid, SB Dunk High and a SB Blazer. The SB Blazers pictured above in a green and orange colorway are by far my favorite pair from this preview, but then again thats probably cause i am a Miami Dolphins fan (im ashamed to admit it). The collection however offers simple color schemes mixed with various materials to make up for a few releases to keep your eyes open for in the future.

Nike Blazer Premium CL Quickstrike – Year of the Ox
This coming Monday, January 26th, the Chinese New Year kicks off for 2009, which is 4706 on Chinese Lunar Calendar. This year is the Year of the Ox and as always Nike has put together a few sneakers to celebrate the event, one of them being this Blazer Premium CL Quickstrike. The sneakers are done up in various shades of grays, white and black in honor of the Asian Water Buffalo which was an animal praised by Asian farmers. Red patent leather was added to the heel tab where there is also a gold image of an ox.
From what our sources tell us the Year of the Ox Nike Blazer Premium CL Quickstrike was only released in Asia. But dont quote us on that as others are saying differently. Either way its a Quickstrike, so your gonna have to hunt for em. Or just snatch em up eBay where there are plenty of sizes up for sale and sit back and relax until they arrive in the mail.

Nike SB Blazer ‘OP Art’
Word has it that the Nike SB Blazer ‘OP Art’ shown above is a Quickstrike and has just started to show up at various Nike SB retailers. These Nike SB Blazers are a collaboration with Ocean Pacific and come in a black/brown/white/purple colorway which includes the use of premium materials on the upper. The toe area and tongue are both black leather while the heel tag and Nike Swoosh look to be white perforated suede. The brown used throughout the upper is suede and the liner of the shoes are finished in purple. The insoles feature OP (Ocean Pacific) artwork on them and since its a SB release you get 3 pairs of laces.
Get the Nike SB Blazer ‘OP Art’ now at select retailers including Shelter in Mexico. Like we said, we are hearing its a Quickstrike release but some of our other sources are saying its a Febuary SB just released early. We will keep you updated if we hear anything else about this release and its availabilty.
Nike House of Hoops ‘Media Pack’
The Nike Media Pack, a collection of three sneakers designed after three basketball movies, will soon be releasing at House of Hoops. Inspired by ‘White Men Can’t Jump’, ‘Hoosiers’, and ‘Teen Wolf’ the Nike Media Pack appears to be an interesting concept which brings together some designs inspired by some classic movies from the past.
One of the sneakers in the House of Hoops Media Pack is the Air Flight Lite inspired by the colors worn by Woody Harelson’s character, Billy Hoyle in White Men Can’t Jump. Next is a Blazer Premium designed after the movie Hoosiers which is done sort of like a lettermen jacket all included with leather accents. The Blazers are red and yellow which was the team colors of the Hoosiers basketball team. The last model is a pair of Nike Dunks inspired by Teen Wolf which are yellow and black with brown fur around the ankle and on the insoles.

Since today is Barack Obama’s Inauguration Day lets take a look at our All-Time Top 3 Barack Obama Sneakers. Today is truly a day that will be remember in the history books for a long time to come, the Inauguration of our 44th President, our nations first African American President. It would seem that what our leaders once preached about in the past is finally starting to come around after all these years and it has given a lot of people a sense of joy. This was one election where people really felt they had a say in the outcome.
Some of the people who showed their love and support for Barack Obama were sneaker customizers who went to great lengths to design custom sneakers dedicated to Obama. With all the designs that have been put together, and ripped off by impostors, we could post Obama shoes for days. But instead we put together a short list of our All-Time Top 3 Barack Obama Sneakers. The sneakers are not ranked in any particular order. Number 3 is just as good as number 1, and number 1 is just as good as number 3. With all that being said, lets jump into the All-Time Top 3 Barack Obama Shoes.

Nike SB Blazer – Blue / Royal Blue
In the coming weeks at Nike SB retailers these light blue/royal blue Nike SB Blazers will be hitting the shelves. From the bottom up Nike SB laced the Blazers with a white sole unit, a light blue upper and a royal blue Nike Swoosh. Maroon finishes up the liner of the sneakers and the Nike SB branding on the tongue tag.
Visit your local Nike SB retailer between the last week in this month and the first week or two in February to check on availability.
