New Balance 577 “Cumbria” Pack

In November 2009 a major flood effected the area of Cumbria in the north west of England, leaving more then 1500 homes and businesses destroyed and damaged. New Balance who has a factory in Flimby, considers Cumbria one of their homes and to make sure support is still strong for those in the local community they work out of and care for eight people from the New Balance HQ in Warrington and Flimby will take part in a fundraiser walk of 140 miles – from New Balance European HQ in Warrington, to Dovenby Hall near Cockermouth. 140 miles is quite the journey on foot, so you can best believe the New Balance employees will be laced up in none other then the finest New Balance shoes, quite possibly one of the 577’s from the Cumbria Pack.
The New Balance “Cumbria” Pack is part of the heritage collection which marks the 20th Anniversary of the NB 557. The pack features two New Balance 577’s sporting snazzy colorways and premium materials such as leather, mesh, suede, a lizard print leather and brushed suede. One features a color combo of Green, Beige, and White while the other swaps the Green for a shade of Red. Embroidered across the tongue is your usual New Balance branding with the 577 hit the the UK flag.
SneakerFreaker has been kind enough to provide us with some photos of both sneakers until an official release rolls around so click here to check em out.
New Balance P790CT “Boston Celtics”

Last week we took a look at the New Balance P790LK “Los Angeles Lakers”, a retro release of New Balance’s basketball sneakers once worn by LA Lakers great James Worthy. Today we’re following up with a look at the Boston Celtics edition of the New Balance 790, the P790CT to be exact.
The Lakers and the Celtics have had a long standing rivalry so it’s no surprise to see New Balance design the 790 Retro in a Celtics-esque colorways to counter the Lakers version. A combination of smooth white leather and perforated leather make up the base up the upper with accents of Celtic Green thrown in. Since these aren’t officially licensed by the NBA there is no Boston Celtics branding included anywhere on the shoes but the white/green is for sure enough for those who wanna show off their Celtic Pride.
I have no details on a US release at this time but the New Balance P790CT “Boston Celtics” is available now at select retailers overseas such as Shelta in Sweden. To check out some detailed photos of the sneakers click here.
New Balance P790LK “Los Angeles Lakers”

For their Spring 2010 Collection New Balance is bringing back their classic P790 model, a 1980’s basketball sneaker which was once the signature model of James Worthy. For the season New Balance will present us with four colorways of the P790 Retro, all of which we got a preview of back in August ‘09, and all of which use colorways inspired by NBA teams.
Thanks to Shelta in Sweden we now have some detailed photos of one of the four colorways, this one inspired by, you guessed it, the Los Angeles Lakers. The P790LK features a base using a combination of smooth white leather and perforated leather with accents of purple and Lakers gold scattered throughout the upper and outsole adding nice some contrast to the sneakers. As it usually does, the gold and purple accents hit real nicely on the white base.
I personally haven’t seen them at retailers in the States yet but according to the New Balance Spring 2010 Catalog this Lakers version and a Celtics version are both suppose to hit retailers this month. A Knicks version and Atlanta Hawks version are both said to be releasing in March.

New Balance x DDC Labs Spring/Summer 2010 M1400

The evil minds at DDC Labs have reached out to New Balance yet once again to produce a new round of M1400 sneakers. Last season we saw a great New Balance M1400 x DDC Labs colabo featuring technical shoeller fabric and brilliant styling, and as a follow up the duo has put together two more M1400’s. Both of the sneakers use original colorways with premium materials throughout and the same attention to detail that we saw the first time around with the DDC Labs M1400, as well as the other models they’ve collaborated on with New Balance.
Hanon, based in Aberdeen (Scotland), will be taking pre-orders on both of the shoes later this week with hopefully some detailed photos of both to follow.

Sneakersnstuff x New Balance 10th Anniversary RGB Pack

To help celebrate 10yrs strong in the business the gang over at Sneakersnstuff joined forces with New Balance to produce the RGB Pack. Peter Jansson, Johan Unden and Erik Borjesson Fagerlind, the owners of Sneakersnstuff, personally picked their favorite New Balance model to work with. Peter went with the M577 in a red colorway with some white and silver accents, Johan selected the M1500 and did it up in a grey, green and white color scheme, and Erik jumped on the M1700 which he designed with a navy and teal color scheme with subtle hits of yellow.
All three of the sneakers in the Sneakersnstuff x New Balance 10th Anniversary RGB Pack are set to release through Sneakersnstuff on December 29th, 2009.
