Sneakerology – New Sneaker Store In Australia

From the minds behind ESPIONAGE in Sydney, Australia, comes Sneakerology.

A concept shop where sneakers are treated like artifacts in a museum, Sneakerology is the newest retailer in Sydney for rare, exclusive and limited edition footwear. The shop is setup to sell sneakers in one of the most informative ways imaginable. Consumers don’t just pick a shoe off the wall, pay a cashier and walk out. They’re given an actual history lesson on the shoe and leave the store knowing a whole lot more about what they just bought.

Inside the store are floor-to-ceiling displays housing 281 sneakers in lighted wooden boxes, each with a unique number. In the center of the store sits a touchscreen navigation system where would be customers can punch in the number of the sneaker they’re interested in to bring up a facts sheet about their potential purchase, along with pricing and sizes available. Its one of the most innovative and informative ways we’ve ever seen sneakers being sold, and we can only wish the customer service at our local Foot Locker and Finish Line locations were as helpful.

Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low “Sprite” Restocked At Eastbay

The Nike LeBron 8 V2 Low “Sprite” has been declared the best colorway of LeBron’s low-top signature sneaker by consumers. If you were unable to get your hands on the shoes when they hit retailers a couple weeks ago, you’ll be happy to hear that they’ve been restocked at Eastbay. The online retailer has all but sizes 9-11 available for the original $150 price, with the smallest size available being a 7 and the largest a 16. Second chances don’t come often, so if you miss out this time it’s your own fault.

Reebok Premier ZigWild TR

Reebok continues to build on its innovative ZigTech Series with the addition of a new model known as the Premier ZigWild TR.

Designed the adventurous trail runners, the Reebok Premier ZigWild TR features a lightweight mesh upper with synthetic overlays and abrasion resistant bumpers in the areas most prone to take a beating (toe and heel). The same flex grove style outsole seen on other Zig models is in place here, which is engineered to absorb the impact of heel strikes while spreading it along the zigs and zags. However, unlike the other Zig models, the Zig Wild has rubber trail spikes to help you keep your footing when the going gets tough.

Two colorways of the Reebok Premier Zig Wild have been released and are available now at select retailers, such as Finish Line. One pair, my personal favorite of the two, features a yellow base with black and orange accents. The other pair goes for the all-black-everything look. Retail for both is $110.

Video: The LeBrons – Episode 7 “Drake”

Drizzy Drake pays LeBron back for appearing in the music video for “Forever” by making a special guest appearance in his animated web series, The LeBrons. Once again, I can’t say I had enough interest to watch it so I can’t really tell you what it’s about, but if you’re interested, here it is.

Hopefully for the sake of The LeBrons, if they want a future in showbiz, Drake’s name can help them regain some attention and attract the hundreds of thousands of viewers they lost over the weeks. Episode 1 has been viewed well over a million times while recent weeks episodes are lucky to top 150K. With heavy product placement and companies paying big dollars for the spots, The LeBrons better improve their numbers or its game over.

Air Jordan 6 “Cool Grey” Customs

We told you Mizzee never sleeps. 72 hours after debuting the Nike LeBron 8 “UNDFTD”, Mizzee Customs returns with another new custom sneaker.

For the fourth time this year, Mizzee Customs works his magic on the Air Jordan 6. He’s previously used this silhouette when creating custom’s inspired by the Hare and Bordeaux Air Jordan 7′s and when he was commissioned to create an Orlando Magic-themed custom for Gilbert Arenas.

This particular pair was given a “Cool Grey” makeover at the request of a client, who wanted the look of the CG Air Jordan 11 on his Air Jordan 6′s. Aside from just matching up the colors, Mizzee added a patent leather finish to parts of the upper to honor the patent wrap on the AJ11 and tinted the outsole blue so they look like one of the newer Retro Jordan releases.

With a fine eye for detail, Mizzee’s custom sneaker’s come off as something you’d expect to see sitting on store shelves. We know some of you aren’t to keen on custom Air Jordan’s, feeling they come off looking fake, but you can’t knock the quality.

Puma x Sneaker Freaker x Nash x MF Doom Sneaker Speakers

UK sneaker customizer Nash Money shocked the world earlier this year when he took an ordinary pair of white-on-white Air Force 1′s and transformed them into a pair of sneaker speakers.

Impressed with his handiwork, Sneaker Freaker reached out to the Nash to collaborate on a new sneaker speaker setup to be featured in their newest issue, issue 21. This time around, Puma got involved in the project and provided Nash with their giant 40-something-size Puma Suede model to work with, giving him much more to work with and essentially allowing him to build a better speaker.

Being Puma’s also in the entertainment business these days, the group decided to get an artist involved to endorse the project. Without hesitation, Nash quickly suggested his favorite artist, MF Doom, who was just as quick to cosign the project once he caught wind of it. The British hip hop artist provided some specifications on what needed to be done to make the system Doom-certified and Nash went to work on putting it all together.

Much more than just a sneaker speaker like the AF1, this is a mobile entertainment system with the best woofers, tweeters and mids, four input terminals to hook up an iPod, laptop, or any other music device, an LCD screen for barometric pressure readouts, two ports for a mic, strobe lights and a megawatt amp. We’re told the system kicks (no pun intended), too, putting out an easy 40 RMS, which is insane given the fact we’re talking about a sound system within a sneaker.

Release Reminders For April 9th, 2011

The newest Air Jordan x Air Max trainer drops in three candy-like colorways, the Air Jordan 12 Low is reissued in the first colorway of the season and Kobe’s Zoom Kobe VI signature gets chaotic. These are your release reminders for April 9th, 2011.

This weekend, Jordan Brand will release the Jordan CMFT Max Air 10, the newest addition to the Jordan CMFT series. To kick things off, they’ll be releasing the “Candy Pack” containing three brightly-colored models taking after last years Air Jordan 2 “Candy Pack”. Jordan will also be bringing back the Air Jordan 12 Low “Taxi”, which was last released in 2004 and will be the first of two colorways to release this year. Both the “Candy Pack” and the AJ12 Low “Taxi” are limited releases and will only be available through select Jordan Brand distributors.

On top of that, Nike is releasing the Nike Zoom Kobe VI “Chaos”. Retail on these will be $150 and they’ll be a limited release, available through select Nike accounts.

Video: The LeBrons – Episode 1 “The Lion”

Earlier this week, LeBron James premiered the first episode of his new animated web series “The LeBrons”. The series, which is meant to teach young kids the importance of morality and honor, features animated versions of LeBron’s personalities (Kid, Athlete, Business, and Wise) from his old Nike ad campaign in a cartoon world. In the first episode, titled “The Lion”, the LeBrons turn the tables on a neighborhood terror before coming to the conclusion that two wrongs don’t make a right.

Supra Footwear Spring 2011 Collection

We thought about it and instead of dragging it out model by model, post by post, we’re going to dive right in and bring you a look at the entire Spring 2011 Collection from Supra Footwear. That’s right, every single silhouette in every single colorway it’s being offered in this season showcased all right here. Now you won’t have to wait until we get around to your favorite style.

This season we’ll see the introduction of three new Supra model’s, two of which are signature pro models. One is the Society Mid, a mid-cut strapless design inspired by the controversial Society. The other is a low-cut silo known as the Amigo, a team model which isn’t really the signature of any one Supra team member. The non-signature of the trio is casual, low-cut, 2-piece model known as the Wrap.

Aside from those, all your usual suspects are in rotation in an assortment of colorways. As far as the signature models go, the Avenger will hit in 7 color schemes, the Bandit in 5, the Bullet in 4, the Diablo in 1, the Dixon in 5, the Skylow in 1, the Skytop in 8, the Skytop II in 4, the Society in 4, the Stacks in 6, the Thunder in 6 and the Thunder Low in 4. Right there that’s 55 sneakers, add in the non-signature models, which includes styles such as the Assault, Cuban, Vaider and Pilot, and we’re talking more than 100 sneakers for the Spring season. Quite impressive to say the least.
