DC Life x Nash Money ‘Monterey’

If you recall a couple weeks ago we gave you a preview of the DC Life x Nash Money collaboration part of the ongoing DC Double Label Project. Now thanks to our good friends over at DC we can provide you with a closer look at these very detailed sneakers.
Nash Cadwell, also known as Nash Money, a very talented artist from the UK unleashes his first collaborative effort ever. Using the DC Monterey as a base, Nash twisted, tore, and ripped the shoe apart, only to stitch it back together again with a multitude of fabrics and a custom crepe bottom. It’s Frankenstein meets mad scientist meets an old English gentleman.
Above all, it’s English wildfowler (duck hunter) meets mature street wear. The old English wildfowler aspect sees the use of luxury, hard-wearing fabrics, with the incorporation of earth tone colors. Paisley print was brought to the lining to add to the overall air of sophistication to Monterey.
The DC Life x Nash Money ‘Monterey’ is available now at DC stores in SoHo, Melrose (LA) and Las Vegas. Click here to check out more detailed pictures of the sneakers.
SBTG x DC Life – Circus of Mutants ‘The Fly’ Sneakers

Sneaker customizer SBTG, an artist who has been featured here on Sneaker Obsession more then a handful of times has teamed up with DC Life for what we believe to be part of the DC Life Artist Series Project in a series known as the Circus of Mutants. For the project SBTG and DC have designed a pair of sneakers as well as a few hats and apparel items. We’re gonna focus on the sneakers here for the most part, eventhough we will include the pictures of the hats as well.
The SBTG x DC Life sneakers feature a black and lime green colorway with signature SBTG details used throughout the upper. The tongue tag says Royalfam and Circus of Mutants ‘The Fly’ Edition leading us to believe this could possibly be one sneaker in a series of DC sneakers designed by SBTG. At this time we cant confirm that though, just speculation folks. The white sole unit has a repeating design of a fly along with the words Circus of Mutants.
We arent quite sure on an exact release date at this time but Hypebeast reports a release will come around the Spring of 2010. Stay tuned for further details and click here to check out more preview pictures of whats in the collection.
DC Life x Nash Money Preview

Here we have a preview of the latest offering from the DC Double Label Project presented by the DC Life, the lifestyle division of DC Shoes. The preview doesnt offer much in terms of what the sneaker will look like, but it does indeed inform us who DC Life has collaborated with, Nash Money who hails from the UK. The image of the sneaker itself has been blown out to avoid us from seeing to much to soon but what from we can see the sneakers appear to have a mid cut design with what looks to be a visible air unit taking up 3/4ths of the mid-sole.
The official release of the DC Life x Nash Money DC Double Label Project is set for August 31st, 2009. Stay tuned for further details and more images of the sneakers.

DC x Rob Dyrdek Collection

DC is proud to announce the release of the Dyrdek Collection from pro skateboarder Rob Dyrdek. After 14 years with DC, Dyrdek’s collection is a first for both himself and the brand, as its premiere athlete designed collection. The Dyrdek Collection includes footwear, apparel and accessories, all which feature signature branding and a custom print. The collection will launch to retail stores beginning October 1, 2009.
The collection was designed to fit perfectly in Dyrdek’s life, with custom fit denim for skateboarding, lightweight zip fleece, T-shirts, hats, wallets, a leather jacket and a new footwear model. A “water” pattern, representing the collection’s theme of “Fantasies Run Deep” is used across the collection as the lead print on t –shirts, fleece, and hats, as well as on interior linings of jackets, accessories, and footwear.
“After nearly 15 years with DC, I am excited to launch my first full collection of footwear, apparel and accessories,” said Dyrdek. “I wanted the Collection to reflect my life, so I incorporated everything from pieces for skateboarding and everyday wear to aspects of my history, like a completely updated model of my first ever shoe with DC.”
Dyrdek’s latest shoe, the RD1 Mid, sits at the center of the collection and draws design cues from Dyrdek’s first ever shoe with the brand. Dyrdek joined DC Shoes in 1995 and set out to design the first-ever skateboard shoe with an athletic shoe’s performance features and look. The result, the Dyrdek1, was the first skateboard shoe to feature protective nylon lace loops. Dyrdek’s signature shoe was met with unprecedented approval by the skateboarding community and sold out in record time.
Fifteen shoes later, the updated RD1 Mid model now comes in two colorways as a mid top with perforated leather and custom lining, but features the same paneling and lace loops from the Dyrdek 1 that revolutionized skateboarding footwear. The code “RD0915AW” is branded into the heel of the shoe, reflecting the original branding on the tongue of Dyrdek’s first shoe,“RD9501AW”, which combined his initials (RD) with the year (‘95), shoe model number (01) and his board sponsor (Alien Workshop).
Follow the jump for a look at the new RD1 Mid and some of the products in the Rob Dyrdek Collection.
