If you’ve been following along for the past few weeks you will have noticed we have been providing you with plenty of previews of whats to come as part of the DC Shoes and DC Life Spring/Summer 2010 Collection. Not all that long ago we posted an image of a Fluorescent Lime Admiral TX, a sneaker which was spotted in the Spring/Summer 2010 catalog and one which many of you on Twitter expressed some love for. Our sources at DC have just informed us that the sneakers will not be releasing in 2010 and instead are part of the Holiday 2009 Collection and one of two shoes part of the Hi-Visibility Pack.

The DC Life ‘Hi-Visibility’ Pack features the previously shown Admiral TX as well as a Xander TX. The two sneakers each sport uppers constructed of tough and unique ballistic nylon in a bright fluorescent lime color. Competing with the fluorescent lime and trying to add a little accent to the sneakers are hits of grey and orange with a white sole unit.

No exact release date has been made available at this time but it has been confirmed the sneakers are part of the Holiday 2009 releases so watch for them to be made available at select DC Life retailers within the coming weeks.

DC Releases Rob Dyrdek’s 15th Sneaker ‘RD1 Mid’

dyrdek-dc-shoes-collection

Starting today, October 1, DC and Rob Dyrdek proudly release the limited edition Dyrdek Collection to retail stores worldwide which includes Robs 15th signature sneaker from DC Shoes, the RD1 Mid.

A member of the skateboarding team since 1995, Dyrdek has been an integral part of DC’s evolution, always reaching beyond his legendary video parts and endless magazine coverage into the realms of product design and wherever else his imagination takes him—he’s truly a visionary of skateboarding and its future. The Dyrdek Collection builds on that history.

Dyrdek’s latest shoe, the RD1 Mid, sits at the center of the Collection and draws design cues from Dyrdek’s first ever shoe with DC, where he set out to design the first-ever skateboard shoe that had an athletic shoe’s performance features and look. The result, the Dyrdek1, was the first skateboard shoe to feature protective nylon lace loops. That first Dyrdek signature shoe was met with unprecedented approval by the skateboarding community and sold out in record time.

Now, 15 years later, The RD1 Mid model comes in two colorways as a mid top with perforated leather and custom lining, but features the same paneling and lace loops from the Dyrdek 1 that revolutionized skateboarding footwear. The code “RD0915AW” is branded into the heel of the shoe, reflecting the original branding on the tongue of Dyrdek’s first shoe. “RD9501AW” combines his initials (RD) with the year (‘95), shoe model number (01) and his board sponsor (Alien Workshop).

Completing the Collection is custom-fit denim for skateboarding, lightweight zip fleece, t-shirts, hats, wallets, and a high-end leather jacket. A water pattern, representing the Collection’s theme of “Fantasies Run Deep” is used across the Collection as the lead print.

DC Release Three New Technologies For Performance Skate Shoes

dc-shoes-new-technology

As part of their Spring/Summer 2010 Collection DC Shoes will be introducing three brand new technologies for performance skate shoes. These new innovative features are sure to set standards for skateboarding sneakers for both DC and every skate shoe manufactuer out there.

First up is the Internal Lace System. Thanks to abrasive griptape, laces are usually the first things to blow out. For Spring/Summer 2010 the lace holes have been tucked away, allowing further protection from ollies. The covered eyelets allow more time on board and less time dealing with laces.

Next is the DGT 123. DGT 123 is DC’s newest development in footwear grip technology. While the original Dynamic Grip Technology™ used the same type of rubber, engineered to different hardnesses for a new level of durability and board feel, the new DGT 123™ takes that concept to a higher level by using different types of rubbers to maximize its effect on the board. DC footwear designers sourced unique rubbers for each part of the sole and created the ultimate combination of board grip and durability: soft grippy rubber in the toe and ollie areas, medium rubber in the arch, and hard durable rubber in the heel.

Lastly is the introduction of Mega Suede™. Mega Suede™ is the evolution of Super Suede™, DC’s upper material that revolutionized suede, the material of choice for skateboarders. Three years of research has resulted in a new material that’s soft, grippy, flexible and lasts way longer than traditional suede. Try it—it’s guaranteed to keep great board feel and prevent shoes from blowing out much longer.

By now you should all know about the Admiral Sport, the revamped version of the original Admiral from DC Life. When we originally posted photos of the sneakers many of you were buzzin on Twitter with good feedback. Since many of you were feelin the white and black colorups we suspect this version of the Admiral Sport will defiantly catch your attention. When it comes to sneakers with metallic uppers we have seen some pretty popular releases which many scrambled to get their hands on, such as the UNDFTD x Puma 24K Mid, 14K Supra Skytops and the Supra Footwear Chrome Mirror Pack. Now DC Life looks to get in on the fun with this version of the Admiral Sport. The entire upper is finished with metallic silver leather giving the sneakers a chrome like look and slightly accenting the reflective finish are accents are red and black. If your into the whole metallic design this part of the Admiral Sport is defiantly something to keep your eyes open for.

An official release of the DC Life Admiral Sport ‘Metallic Silver’ is set for January 1st, 2010.
