Supra Suprano ‘Thriller’ Customs
Since the passing of Michael Jackson on June 25th, 2009 we have seen quite a few tributes to the King of Pop in the sneaker industry. No company has actually released a tribute design to the King but numerous sneaker customizers have laid down their skills on various templates to bang out sneakers carrying designs inspired by the iconic fashion style of Michael Jackson. Back in June, a day after the passing of Michael Jackson, our friend Matt from Sole Brother hit up us to tell us that hes getting getting a ton of requests for Michael Jackson tribute sneakers and that him and his team would be designing a pair of Thriller inspired Supra Supranos.
Finally we can now give you a glimpse at the final design. Ever since the Thriller video debuted on December 3rd, 1983 the glossy red leather jacket which Michael wore has become a sought after item for Jackson fans around the globe. When speaking about Thriller, or even thinking about the video, its hard not to picture Jackson dancing in the streets, doing his signature dance moves in that bright red leather jacket. I have to admit, even i wanted one as a young kid in the late 80s. The Supra Suprano with Sole Brother designed sticks to the theme of that very jacket with a glossy upper in a red and black color scheme. As some added features Sole Bother printed Thriller across the strap of the sneakers and added MJ’s initials to the heel as well as his life span, 1958-2009.

Converse Chuck Taylor ‘Thriller’ Customs
Honoring the recently unexpected passing of Michael Jackson, SBTG and DJ Inquisitive have teamed up to design a pair of customs honoring the late King of Pop. DJ Inquisitive approached SBTG with interest to do a project and with the recent passing of MJ SBTG knew a pair of customs paying tribute to Jackson would be great, specially since Michael Jackson is the reason DJ Inquisitive got into music in the first place.
The custom Chuck Taylors use a distressed look with a theme inspired by Michael Jacksons epic and award winning ‘Thriller’ video. The sneakers use tons of details to bring together a look as if Jackson himself would of worn them himself along with his bright red leather jacket. The claw effects are one of the key elements of the sneakers ive loving but some other key features include custom patches stitched onto the upper, zipper tongues and SBTG/Royalefam branding.

Nike Dunk ‘G.I. Joe’ Custom Sneakers
INTRXN, a sneaker customizer who has been featured on the site before with designs such as the Transformers Nike Dunks and the Genesis presents hit latest custom sneakers. In a tribute to G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra INTRXN has designed the custom G.I. Joe Nike Dunks.
These 1 of a kind sneakers feature a grip of detailing such as a nanomite pattern along the toe and lace panels with cobra green snakeskin detailing along the Nike Swoosh. The G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra logo is included along the heel of the sneakers in the form of a stitched on patch. Under the patch and on the rest of the heel panel is a tonal splatter design which is something that was included on the base of the sneakers. Added details include olive green Nike SB shoe laces and a premium Nike product dog tag. Taking the theme one step further is a custom metal ammo case with screen-printed details on it in yellow.
Personally speaking i cant say i was a big fan of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra but INTRXN did an amazing job on these as he usually does with all his customs. Nike Dunk ‘Good Yankee Gone Badass’ Customs
Sneaker customizer Eye Candy presents use with a look at his latest custom sneakers dubbed the ‘Good Yankee Gone Badass’ Nike Dunks. Eye Candy designed the Dunk High with a colorway inspired by the Yankees Away jersey to create a clean and classy set of colors to work with. The number 26, which stands for the number of World Championships the Yankees have won, is included on the tongue tag of the sneakers in an interesting effect. The design is done with a staggered tile effect to symbolize the 26 being deleted to make way for the 27th victory to come. The digital camo side panels on the upper is added to add depth to the grey scale colorway and add an Eye Candy feel to these. The baseball stitch print ties the sneaker together, bridging the gap between the Yankees and Eye Candy Custom.

The Making Of: Prison Blues Nike Dunks
Not all that long ago we featured the Prison Blues Nike Dunks, the latest custom sneakers designed by the very talented SBTG. The web was buzzin over the design when pictures surfaced online, as they usually do with anything that comes from SBTG. The designing of the Prison Blues Nike Dunks featured individually hand-screened graphics and only the best premium grade selvedge denim available on the market.
SBTG has given us a look at the process it took to design the Prison Blues Nike Dunks in a couple of photos. The pictures display various co-workers screen painting the graphics, cutting out the designs and measuring and stretching out denim to cut for each of the Dunks. The process is defiantly time consuming but the final outcome is always well worth the work in the end.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force Custom Nike Dunks
Our friend Ryon, the brains behind Mizzee Customs has just sent us over some images of his latest custom sneakers which just so happen to be inspired by one of my favorite television shows, Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
For the Aqua Teen Hungry Force Nike Dunks Ryon started off with the an image of Meatwad on the mid-panel of the right sneaker with designs of Frylock and Master Shake close by. Meatwad is shown in front of a brick wall in the shape of a hot dog, a reference to the opening credits of ATHF where Meatwad is introduced. On the mid-panel of the left sneaker Ryon laid down the brick pattern again and applied the ATHF logo and a image of Carl, chest hair included. From there Ryon continued with the brick wall wrapping it around the heel of both sneakers. From there the names of each character, along with other random names were applied in graffiti style fashion somewhere within the brick wall design, another nod to the opening credits of the show. The characters themselves, Meatwad, Master Shake, Frylock and Carl all have an extra glossy finish to them to give them more on an animated look compared to their duller flat matte backgrounds.
Things dont stop there though cause when Ryon puts in the time for a design he really goes the extra step. Not only did he design these custom sneakers but to go along with them he designed a custom Aqua Teen Hunger Force box. The custom box features the mooninites recking havok in the ATHF living room while the rest of the box is made to look, and feel like a brick. A custom box is something Ryon has been including with a lot of his recent customs and if you ask us something like that really helps to wrap up the theme of the sneakers and make a 1 of a kind custom sneaker more unique then it already is in its own state.
