Magic Johnson Converse Weapon Retro

Alongside the Larry Bird Converse Weapon Retro the Magic Johnson Weapon Retro will also be released. Converse did the right thing by bringing back both these color schemes which were won by 2 of the NBA’s key players in the mid 80s. The Magic Johnson Converse Weapon Retro shown here is of course done up in a classic gold, white and purple LA Lakers colorway with purple crushed velvet around the ankle. Although the velvet wasnt on the OG design its a nice addition to these classic basketball sneakers. The Larry Bird Weapon Retro and the Magic Johnson Weapon Retro should both be hitting Converse retailers such as LimitEDitions soon. Follow the jump for more pictures.

Later this year Converse will retro the Larry Bird Converse Weapon. Back in the mid 80s when players like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson were once sponsored by Converse you would catch them both wearing the Converse Weapon during games. Simplicity was key with the Converse Weapon, using just a simple two-tone color scheme to get the job done. Watch for these sneakers to hit select Converse retailers, such as LimitEDitions. More detailed pictures follow after the jump.

Undefeated x Converse – Poorman’s Weapon

Picture above is a look at the Poorman’s Weapon. The Poorman’s Weapon is a collaboration between Undefeated and Converse and inspired by the Air Force MA-1 flight jackets all included with removable velcro patches. The shoes include the use of the same nylon flight satin fabric which was used on the Air Force MA-1 jackets. The liner of the sneakers are canvas and colored orange just like you would find on the inside of the MA-1 jacket. For those not in the know, the Air Force MA-1 Flight Jacket was reversible, black on one side and orange on the other. The sneakers however are not reversible, sorry. The sole of the Poorman’s Weapon is modeled after the iconic Converse Chuck Taylor and even features a vulcanized Undefeated stamp on it. No official release date has been announced at this time so stay tuned for more details. Via: Vapors

Chuck Taylor ‘Joker’ Customs

Joker Chuck Taylor Custom Sneakers

Batman fans are going nuts over the new Batman movie titled “Dark Knight”. Within the first 24hrs the movie had generated over $66 million dollars at the box office which is unbelievable. In my opinion Heath Ledger has to be one of the main factors which makes this movie a hit and i know theres many people out there who can agree to that. For all those Heath Ledger fans out there i present to you these custom Chuck Taylors designed by Sweatshop Clothing. A female customer across the pond in Sweden reached out to Sweatshop Clothing to get a pair of custom sneakers designed with a Heath Ledger theme. Sometime ago Sweatshop Clothing had designed a pair of Joker Chucks for himself and the female customer wanted her pair designed exactly like those but with a side of Heath thrown in. There are a lot of nice touches here which really make these sneakers complete, the multi color lace eyelets being one of them. The Joker artwork on the heel is sick, Sweatshop Clothing did a nice mock up of a devilish looking Heath Ledger taken from some concept artwork for the movie. Under that the saying ‘Why So Serious?’ was added in red. Since the female customer wanted the sneaker based on the original Joker Chucks by Sweatshop Clothing, everything else from the originals were added such as the symbols from a deck of cards in black and red, a thin purple line along the top edge all around, and a thick yellow stripe on the back. Due to the popularity of the new Dark Knight movie im sure this wont be the last pair of Batman Custom Sneakers we see. Check out pictures of how the sneakers were painted from begging to end along with images of the artwork that was used for inspiration and pictures of the original Joker Chucks by Sweatshop Clothing.

Chuck Taylor “Banana Camo” Customs

Chuck Taylor Banana Camo Customs

I dont think ive featured a pair of custom Chuck Taylors on the site in a long time so its about time to do so. Sweatshop Clothing stopped by the forum to show these off to us, which he designed to match the Banana Camo New Era hat. Sweatshop took the Camo Chuck Taylors and simply added the same exact Banana designs found scattered around the New Era hat and then did up the tongue of the sneakers to carry the Sweatshop logo in yellow. The logo was also added to the underbrim on the hat to finish the complete fit. This is a pretty hot combo when you match up the sneakers and the hat together. Check out a few more alternate angles after the jump and hit up Sweatshop Clothing with all your comments about them in the forum here.
