Converse x Staple x 1HUND(RED) Sea Star Mid

Earlier this year Jeff Staple and Converse designed and introduced the Sea Star Mid, a revamped model of the Sea Star Low. The sneakers were debuted with Jeff Staple’s signature Pigeon motif and sold out instantly when they hit the shelves.

Recently Converse reached out to Jeff again and asked him to revisit the Sea Star Mid design, this time for the Converse 1HUND(RED) Campaign presented by Converse which helps to save lives in Africa and fight the ever growing spread of AIDS in the country. In keeping with the whole (RED) theme, Jeff kept this version simple. The shoes feature a black upper with accents of white and red, red to replace the pink usually found on the pigeon themed sneakers such as the original Sea Star Mids. Same features as the earlier Pigeon version are all present and accounted for, besides for the actual pigeon branding on the tongue. You still have the Staple tag on the upper, the staple branded insoles and the Staple rubber stamp on the heel. Mid cut puffed out collar to provide plenty of comfort, warmth and protection (a design feature which Jeff made sure was included on the Sea Star Mid during the design phase). The Outsole features nautical inspired terms and the exterior of the collar is water resistant as well. Unfortunately there is no Pigeon branding on these

Converse Chuck Taylor Hi ‘Down Jacket’ Pack

For the colder months which are not far ahead of us Converse has put together a pack of Chuck Taylor Hi’s inspired by down jackets. Each of the sneakers have a construction on the patent leather uppers which consists of various diagonal panels which appear to be puffed up just like the a down jacket. We arent quite sure if there are actually feathers into the strips but its defiantly an interesting look and something different.

No news has been announced at this time on an official release but something leads up to believe they are a Converse Japan release for September 2009. Via: MashKulture

Converse Weapon Evo Low

Last month in August Converse started to debut various colorways of their newly designed Converse Weapon Evo. The sneakers have been on the market for about a month now and the sales are steadily plying up. We arent sure on the exact details just yet but it would appear Converse is working up a Converse Weapon Evo Low to follow in the footsteps of the mid.

Converse Chuck Taylor ‘Thriller’ Customs

Honoring the recently unexpected passing of Michael Jackson, SBTG and DJ Inquisitive have teamed up to design a pair of customs honoring the late King of Pop. DJ Inquisitive approached SBTG with interest to do a project and with the recent passing of MJ SBTG knew a pair of customs paying tribute to Jackson would be great, specially since Michael Jackson is the reason DJ Inquisitive got into music in the first place.

The custom Chuck Taylors use a distressed look with a theme inspired by Michael Jacksons epic and award winning ‘Thriller’ video. The sneakers use tons of details to bring together a look as if Jackson himself would of worn them himself along with his bright red leather jacket. The claw effects are one of the key elements of the sneakers ive loving but some other key features include custom patches stitched onto the upper, zipper tongues and SBTG/Royalefam branding.

AC/DC x Converse Chuck Taylor ‘Powerage’

Either the AC/DC x Converse Music Collection is gearing up for a couple new releases or Converse has held out on releasing a few of the designs which they came up with. Shown here is a pair of Chuck Taylors designed in collaboration with AC/DC in honor of “Powerage”, a album which they released in 1978.

The Powerage Chuck Taylor appears to be a double layer Chuck with a double upper and a double tongue both of which are black. The tongue tag features the AC/DC logo while the heel has ‘Powerage’ wrapping around it in yellow text. The multi color shoe laces look to be multiple pairs of thin spaghetti string laces and at this time we dont know if that was something included with the sneakers or something which has been added by whoever is wearing them.

Converse Pro Leather Hi ‘Jordan Edition’ Sample

Throughout his college basketball days with UNC whenever you saw Micheal Jordan running the courts majority of the time he was sporting Converse shoes, more specifically the Pro Leather High in a white/blue color scheme to match the UNC uniforms.

In honor of the GOAT rocking the Pro Leather High throughout his college years Converse put together the Pro Leather High ‘Jordan Edition’. The sneakers are shown with a white base with gold accents on the Converse logo and on the heel tab of the sneakers. In a nob to his greatness Converse added an image of a player in blue going up for a jump shot on the heel tab along with the number 23 also in blue going down the heel spine. The tongue tag of the sneakers says Jordan Edition in gold, as do the black insoles.

Converse Weapon Evo Available Now

Its been a little over five months since we have been able to bring you any news on the Converse Weapon Evo, a redesigned and updated version of the classic Converse Weapon. Now that we have gotten the go ahead from the folks at Converse we can now bring you plenty of details about the Weapon Evo as well as provide you with plenty of images of the sneakers and the upcoming colorways.

The Converse Weapon Evo is an all new, court-ready, performance basketball shoe evolved from the original Weapon. The Evo features some of latest technology from Converse and sports the iconic Star Chevron logo, a logo which will be seen on all the upcoming releases for the Converse Fall 2009 Lineup. Some of the technology used to design the Weapon Evo includes the Converse Balls Technology which makes its official debut in the Evo. This all new cushioning system is the shoes heel that provides superior impact protection. The heel of the sneaker has several polyurethane balls, which when compressed, rebound and push back to create a unique low profile support system that reacts to the athletes foot as its responds to the demands of the game. The Evo also features a perforated leather upper for enhanced breathability, fit and feel and an additional lateral support overlay to help contain splay during hard cuts.

The Weapon Evo launches with two energy colorways that pay homage to two of basketball’s greatest on-court rivals, that being of the LA Lakers and the Boston Celtics. The energy colorways retail for $90 and both are available now at FinishLine. The Weapon Evo will continue to roll out in nine team colorways for $75 in September 2009. Two additional in-line colorways roll out for $80 nationwide in October 2009.

Converse ‘Moonwalk’

Converse looks to prove to use yet again that the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star is a template which can be modified and designed in more ways then one can count. Their latest Chuck design is completely out of the box and something we are sure a lot of people will find straight out odd.

We present to you the Converse ‘Moonwalk’. Using a regular pair of Chucks Converse literally took every panel and swapped it around creating a new model that now laces up on the heel. Seeing as how the upper has been swapped around Converse went ahead and swapped around the toe-cap and panels on the sole unit as well so now the rubber heel stamp is on the front of the sneakers.

The Converse ‘Moonwalk’ will be available sometime this week at Alife Rivington Club in very limited quanities.
