Nike Air Force One

St!zo: Chi-Town Brown Pride

Sk!zo Brown Pride Custom Nike Air Force One Sneakers

Here is some more heat, fresh off the easel from St!zo. I present to you, the Chi-Town Brown Pride Air Force 1 lows. The kicks feature, of course, the Mexican flag colorway. On the side panel is the Mexican flag emblem. This is accompanied on the back panel by the Chicago skyline, and to finish it off the customer’s initials are written in Ole English going down the back of the shoe. I must say, the toy definately would be sick to go along with this piece of artwork if I were displaying this pair in my room. There will be more from St!zo coming soon, but for now, make sure to check the pics out after the jump.

1Vote Update

1vote-collage.bmp

There have been a ton of questions surrounding the 1Vote campaign. The campaign was inspired by Nike’s 1Night Only event where attendees voted for the best Air Force 1 of all time, ultimately leading to the small re-release of the Stash Hi’s. This inspired the brand to try using this approach to spark sales and hype in the three major sneaker markets: Baltimore, Philadelphia, and New York. The 1Vote may be a trial for future things to come from Nike’s marketing sector, and could put a serious hit on the resale market. The campaign could also possibly give a big boost to the resale market because of the small quantity and the city by city exclusivity of the re-releases.

So far, the results are as follows. In Baltimore, the Ueno Sakura Air Force 1’s have been chosen and will re-release during the summer of 2008. Because of the term “re-issue” and not “retro”, it seems likely that the release will include wooden box and all.

In Philadelphia, the current leading vote getter is the 2003 Varsity Red LE lows, surprisingly followed by the Ice Pink ‘05 Women’s lows, and followed up by the Hufquakes. The Mark Smith II’s dropped from 1st last week all the way to 4th. The voting still has two weeks to go, so things could drastically change in Philly. Hopefully, things will change and all you Philly heads will vote for my PURPLE AIR FORCE 1 HIGH’S!!!! Just 70 votes to go!

New York will have its chance to vote in January.

Just in case people are wondering where to vote, as there are 7 Sneaker Villas in Philadelphia and only 2 are taking votes, here are the addresses and information once again:

Paralabyrinth AF1 by Sekure D

sekure-d-001.jpg

What happens when you mix the Paragon P-Rod and the Labyrinth AF1s both designed by Sekure D? You get what Sekure D dubbed the Paralabyrinth AF1 in a Bubblegum/White/Black colorway. Taking inspiration from his past Paragon P-Rod and the Labyrinth Air Force One Sekure D has come up with a “hybrid” design. These are 1 of a kind and are available in a size 11.5 on the Sekure D website for $325. If you have any sneakerheads left on your holiday shopping list this could be the perfect gift for them. A Sekure D custom is sure to blow minds as a surprise.

Ueno Sakuras Back Again

It is official. The re-seller’s nightmare and the collector’s dream has come to life. Nike will re-release the Nike Air Force 1 Ueno Sakura’s, one of the most hyped pairs of kicks in quite awhile, at select sneaker spots in Baltimore in the coming months. No release date has been confirmed yet, but you will definately be updated as more information surfaces.

The decision was made based on Baltimore residents voting on 1 of 25 air force 1’s to be re-released in the city at Sneaker Villas. The event will also be going on in Philly and NYC. From December 1st to December 26th, Philladelphia residents can vote at one of two Sneaker Villas for which pair they want to bring back.

Guitar Hero Air Force One Customs

guitar1.jpg

I just cant get into Guitar Hero like majority of the crowd has. Everywhere i go its Guitar Hero, 45yr old fathers in the game stores playing it with a line of 13yr old kids behind them. As i always say though, i can respect another man/girls piece of art if its done with a sense of taste. Which i think these are. I can imagine how hard these sneakers would go if they were an official release in the stores. However, they arent, and you cant buy them. These custom AF1s were done by an DJ/Customizer by the name of ST!ZO. The kicks were done for a customer who is obviously a Guitar Hero fan. The flame job is executed well and the colors on the swoosh to match the Guitar from the game is a nice touch. Nice job ST!ZO. If your interested in checking out some music by ST!ZO or just wanna check out some more customs drop by their Myspace page and bless them with some comments.

Seamless AF1 custom, AJ1 Force

aj1.jpg

I think this has to be the first time i have ever seen a custom job on the seamless AF1. When it comes to a sneaker like the seamless air force ones there are a lot of routes you can go. A sneaker like this is pretty much a blank canvas for an artist, no seams or anything to deal with. A guy by the name of Spoonman had a different idea. He was going to replicate an actual stitched sneaker. And he did a great job at that as well. The custom job was done for DJ Altimet. Spoonman did a nice clean job with the paint here, duplicating the stitching and everything to match a regular AF1 to a T. You can see a lot of time and effort went into these if you look at the detail. Personally, im not feeling the Jumpman logo on the side like that but hey, to each their own. Specially when its a custom job for somebody else, gotta go with what they like no matter what you may think. We at Sneaker Obsesession hope to see a lot more from Spoonman in the future. Feel free to check out his blog which contains more of his designs as well as other customs which he has done in the past.
