Show Us Your Beaters!!

“What kicks are you rocking today” is the most popular question among sneakerheads over the web today. We all take an interest in what one another is wearing and usually take pride in showing off the crisp kicks we have decided to rock out in for the day.
Along with those crispy clean kicks we want to see those beaters too. And i dont mean those shoes which some people call beaters which are still in mint condition, ya know the ones, a pair of average sneakers which you wear on random nights out when you dont wanna wear a pair of fresh Jays or whatever it may be. I mean your real beaters, the kicks which are on the verge of busting at the seams, or have already busted at the seams.
I for one go hard in all my sneakers, no matter what they be or how limited they are. Like the Jones Beach Air Force 1’s i have on today. They may still be crispy clean now but sooner or later these puppies will be hurting and begin to be laid to rest.
My most beat up sneakers have to be these classic Air Force 1 Jewels, or possibly a pair of Trainer SC’s which i will get to some other time. The AF1 Jewels are some of my favorite sneakers and day after day im always wishing for Nike to bring em back and mass produce them again. What i love about my beaters is that they all have stories to tell. Whether they be stories about balling on the court, running from the cops during my youth, getting smashed at keg parties in the middle of the woods during rain nights, or simply just messin around and having fun. Just look at these filthy things. The support in the shoe is shot and they are scuffed up to no need, even the red is scuffed off a lot of the Swoosh. Look at the yellow mid-sole too, needless to say these bad boys have been around for quite some time. Jason Markk or the JGoods Restoration Kit cant even do these things justice. You can slide right into these like you can slide right into a loose…Actually, let me finish that sentence right there since this is a kid friendly site.
Click here to check out a few pictures of just how beat these AF1’s are and hit us up on Twitter with some shots of the most beat up sneakers you have in your collection. Lets see how hard you have gone in some of your sneakers and whether or not you have kept them or trashed them.
Bespoke Nike Air Force 1 ‘Space Jam’

During a recent visit to New York City Bun B swung on by Nike Sportswears on 21 Mercer Street to design his latest Bespoke Air Force 1. For his design inspiration Bun B took cues from the Air Jordan 11 ‘Space Jam’. The sneaker is simply yet clean, which is always appreciated aslong as its done right. Which these sure are.
For the upper of the Space Jam Bespoke Air Force 1’s Bun used a combo of mesh and patent leather with the toe-box and frontal finished in black patent leather and the mid section, Nike Swoosh and heel panels done up in black mesh. Making sure to add a touch of blue taken from the Jumpman logo on the Space Jam Bun B had the heel tab constructed of black patent leather with blue contrast stitching and had solo blue lace eyelets added to the top of the lace panels. As we all know the Space Jams have a white mid-sole with an icey outsole, one of the key elements to the sneakers we all love so much, so Bun finished up the sneakers with just that.

Undefeated x LIVESTRONG x Nike Air Force 1 Low Supreme Preview

Nike and Lance Armstrong’s LIVESTRONG foundation have been partnering up for quite some time now in an ongoing series to benefit the LIVESTRONG foundation. The two have released everything from apperal to sneakers, with the shoes attracting somewhat more attention then the rest of the collection.
Thanks to a scan provided by Hypebeast from a recently issued Sneaker Freaker magazine we have a little peek at an Air Force 1 Low Supreme which will continue the string of LIVESTRONG models. According to reports this LIVESTRONG Air Force 1 has been designed along with Eddie Cruz and the guys over at Undefeated. The shoes consist of your usual black and yellow LIVESTRONG colorway and feature a unique looking pattern on 3/4ths of the upper similar to a pattern which appeared on a previous Undefeated x Nike Air Force 1 collaboration. Laser etching on the midsoles read “ONYOURBIKEKID”.
No official release date has been announced at this time and as it stands alls we have is this preview shot. Keep it posted for further details.
Bespoke Air Force 1 Designed by Mike Capanni

The crew down at 21 Mercer St have presented us with some images of yet another Bespoke Air Force 1. Despite the economy being in slump it hasnt seem to slow down the production of the Bespoke AF1’s which cost a nicely little penny to say the least. One of the more recent pairs to be finished has been designed by Mike Capanni who took the opportunity to design his Bespoke Air Force 1 with entirely with a safari print. The toe-box, mid-panels and heel panels have a light grey safari print, while the frontal, lace panels, Nike Swoosh and heel spine have a dark grey/green safari print. A grey/red safari print has been added to the heel tab and tongue tag. Sitting below the bold upper is a neon green MX sole unit.

Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke by Tony Baker

When it comes to Bespoke Air Force 1’s Tony Baker is a familiar name in the game. Tony has stopped by the Nike iD Studio at 21 Mercer Street quite a few times this year so far to flex his design skills on his very own Bespoke Air Force Ones. His latest addition to his personal collection of these Zebra AF1’s. According to the guys at 21 Mercer St. Tony is the first to use the zebra fabric, and use it he did, covering almost the entire upper with the furry like zebra material. The lace panels and heel tab are both finished in black leather while the Nike Swoosh is done in a smooth black suede which blends nicely with the Zebra upper. Finishing up the shoes is a clear MX sole unit. Our props go out to Tony for constructing this dope Bespoke Air Force 1.

Nike Air Force 1 High ‘Reduce, Reuse, Play Dirty’ Customs

When it comes to sneaker customizers i have a lot of favorites in the game. Really to many to even begin to announce. What i will say though is Jester, owner of 3R Customs, is defiantly on that list of favorite customizers. His innovative designs and quality to attention are always superb which is why Jester has been featured on Sneaker Obsession numerous times with kicks such as the The Hundreds Nike Dunks, the Red Bombed Nike Blazers, the Chroma Nike Dunk Lows, and the infamous Back to the Future 2 Nike Dunks. Thats just to name a few too!
One of his latest designs is the Reduce, Reuse, Play Dirty Air Force 1 High. The design is an ode to one of Jesters favorite streetwear brands, and one of mine as well, Undefeated. The upper outer panels feature the “strikeout” camo and is constructed from recycled vinyl tote bags that the company uses to pack purchased product from their retail stores. A green Nike Swoosh slightly accents the grey/white/black upper. The inner panels are finished in komodo dragon skin which Jester had laying around from a previous pair of custom sneakers. A grey suede sockliner provides ultimate comfort. Jester says, “Inspiration comes from everyone and everywhere and one man’s bag may be another man’s treasure.”
