Brad Douglas, the sneaker customizer who made the ‘Zip It Up’ Supra Skytops just hit me up via email with a look at his latest custom design. A local skate shop in the area where Brad is from was wondering if he could take a pair of Nike SB Dunks and apply grip tape to them, something which is famous and widely used in the skateboard industry. Being a man of many talents Brad came through with non other then a pair of custom Grip Tape Nike SB Dunks.
Brad fully reconstructed a pair of SB Dunk Lows which were once green. Around the frontal, lace tab and heel panel Brad stitched on some white distressed leather while he added grip tape to the toe-box, mid-panel and tongue. What Brad also did which i think is sort of cool looking was to use white stitching for the distressed leather which blended it in and gave it sort of a ‘perforated constrast stitching’ look as Brad puts it. Before calling it quits and putting the tools away Brad decided to stitch in a black/white zebra style lining.
