In Chinese Astrology, the year 2012 is considered to be the “Year of the Dragon”. Specifically, it’s the year of the Black Water Dragon. As you can expect with any major celebration as such, several footwear companies will be releasing specially designed sneakers to honor the Chinese New Year. Just the other day we gave you a look at what New Balance put together for the celebration and now here we have a look at what Jordan Brand is planning to release. Pictured below are the first clear shots of the Air Jordan 2012 “Year of the Dragon”. To fit in with the “water dragon” theme, Jordan Brand dressed the sneakers predominantly in two shades of blue. White appears on the enlarged Jumpman logo on the ankle as well as the outsole, while hits of yellow accent the laces, lining, and a dragon illustration on the tongue tag. One last notable detail to look for is the tonal Chinese lettering on the medial side of the upper. There’s no official release date at this time for the Air Jordan 2012 “Year of the Dragon”, so stay tuned for further developments.
