Carbon fiber has been incorporated into several Jordan Brand models over the years, after having first appeared on the Air Jordan 11 back in ’95. What was once used mainly for part of the sole is now being used on a much larger scale.
Not all that long ago, Jordan Brand released two carbon fiber versions of the Air Jordan 1 Phat, which we’ll see followed-up later this year by a carbon fiber version of the Air Jordan 6 Rings. The Air Jordan 6 Rings “Carbon Fiber” features a predominantly black upper containing mesh on the midfoot and carbon fiber on the mudguard. A grey heel panel adds contrast and is matched with the outsole, while white claims the midsole.
If you’re looking to get a pair, watch for the sneakers to hit a Jordan Brand distributor near you on September 17th, 2011.
