While there is some uncertainty regarding the NBA lockout and whether or not there will even be a 2011 season, one thing’s for sure, LeBron James’ new signature sneakers will hit the floor regardless. Even if club owners and players can’t come to an agreement to end the lockout, Nike is still expected to follow through with its planned campaigns, which includes releasing LeBron’s new signature model, the Nike LeBron 9.
Shown here in full-detail for the first time, the Nike LeBron 9 appears to be an offshoot of the Nike LeBron 8 PS. The sneakers feature a host of materials and tons of technology, creating the most advanced model in LeBron’s signature line thus far. Throughout the upper you’ll notice Nike’s revolutionary Fuse and Flywire technologies have been implemented along with carbon fiber and a woven mesh similar to that on the Air Jordan 19. With Fuse and Flywire combined, the sneakers are sure to be lightweight, flexible and extremely durable. Cushioning comes by the way of a 180-degree Air unit in the heel and Zoom Air in the forefoot.
Based on what you see so far, what’s your initial thoughts on the Nike LeBron 9? Is it going to take another colorway or two before you pass judgement?
