Jordan Brand has always had a strong interest in carbon fiber, but recently they’ve been showing just how fascinated they are with the material by using it on a much wider scale. Late last year and early this year, Jordan Brand released two Jordan CMFT Viz Air 11 models constructed with carbon fiber, and later this year they’ll be releasing a Jordan 6 Rings and an Air Jordan 1 Phat featuring the high-strength and lightweight material. We’ve seen the 6 Rings before, and now here we see the AJ1 Phat. Draped in black, the sneakers feature a nice blend of nubuck and carbon fiber throughout the upper, adding some depth to an otherwise tonal shoe.
An official release date for the Air Jordan 1 Phat “Carbon Fiber” hasn’t been posted yet, but Jordan Brand is preparing for an August release.
