More than 2 million Boricua’s lined the streets of New York City yesterday for the 54th annual Puerto Rican Day Parade. The young, old and disabled wore their best red, white and blue outfits as they took to the streets to celebrate their heritage at one of the largest parades in the country.
He may have not attended the parade, but Carmelo Anthony definitely had his roots in mind. Melo, who’s half-Puerto Rican on his father’s side, began the day by tweeting a couple pictures of a special Jordan Melo M7 Future Sole in a red, white and blue color scheme that Jordan Brand produced especially for him in honor of the Puerto Rican Day Parade. With that being said, don’t expect them to hit retailers anytime soon.
