Jordan Brand’s anxious to get the Air Jordan 2.0 in your hands, so much so they’re bumping the release date up. Originally slated to hit retailers on June 4th, the sneakers are now scheduled to release on May 28th, the last Saturday of the month.
The Air Jordan 2.0 is billed as a modern version of the original Air Jordan 2, packed with new performance features to make them more desirable on the court. Shown here in White/Black-Varsity Red, the upper of the Jordan 2.0 remains the same as the OG AJ2, with the exception of the overlay, which is constructed from patent leather as opposed to textured leather. That could change on other models though. You’ll also notice mesh on the tongue, adding some breathability. The major, obvious difference here is seen on the lower half of the shoes, where a full-length Max Air sole is buttoned up to provide ample amounts of cushioning, something the original Air Jordan 2 knows nothing about.
As pointed out earlier, the Air Jordan 2.0 is set to release on May 28th, 2011, a week earlier than originally expected. Retail price will be $160.
