Sanrio is the king of collaborations. The Japanese company, who is famously known for creating the Japanese cultural icon Hello Kitty, has teamed up with a slew of companies to implement the cute little cat on everything from knick knacks to clothing to accessories and yes, sneakers, too.
Sanrio and Hello Kitty are no strangers to the world of sneakers. In 2009, Ascis released two Hello Kitty Gel Lyte III‘s and Reebok dropped a Freestyle Hi featuring graphics of the cuddly cat. Reebok hit it again in 2010 with a furry PT-20 Hi with a red bow-tie and BAPE released a colorful Hello Kitty-themed BAPESTA.
Looking for a new twist this year, Sanrio joins Vans on a line of Hello Kitty sneakers. Scheduled to release this Fall, the collection includes women and children styles of the SK8-HI D-Lo, the Slip-On and the Authentic Lo Pro, each featuring a unique Hello Kitty motif. Like everything else HK, these are sure to be a hot commodity among the younger girls, and the ones who just don’t want to grow up yet.
Check out the collection after the jump and watch for the sneakers to become available this June through select Vans retailers in addition to Sanrio retailers, and online through Sanrio and Vans webstores.
