When it comes to this year’s Air Jordan 5 Retro Black/Metallic Silver-Varsity Red, a lot of sneakerheads seem to have a love-hate relationship with them. Some changes were made to the model this year compared to previous releases, and while most of the differences can easily be overlooked, theres one people just don’t want to accept. Jordan Brand’s decision to replace the clear translucent outsole with a blue-tinted one has consumers fuming. The problem with a icey blue outsole is that it eventually turns green over time. A clear outsole is prone to turn yellow itself, so neither of the two are perfect in any way, but if given the choice of one or the other, it seems most consumers would rather have a clear outsole that turns yellow. The swap though is in no way going to stop consumers from snatching the sneakers up when they hit retailers in August cause like we said, it’s a love-hate relationship.
