CNCPTS x New Balance 999 “The Kennedy” – New Photos

After a brief setback, Concepts is preparing to release their co-branded New Balance 999 “The Kennedy” by the end of the week. The nautical design approach to “The Kennedy” was inspired by the sailing heritage of Massachusetts, and it’s name is an homage to the late John F. Kennedy who spent many summers sailing the coast of New England. The sneakers feature a combination of grey and khaki suede throughout the bulk of the upper in addition to blue nylon on the heel and white mesh on the toe-box. Accents of red appear on the lace holders, which secure the white and blue striped laces. CNCPTS is spelled out across the tongue in nautical alphabet flags and again in regular lettering on the insoles. The primary colors of the shoes reference the sea faring signposts which explicitly bears its mark in the semaphore pattern grid used in the foot bed.

The launch of the CNCPTS x New Balance 999 “The Kennedy” will take place on April 16th at Concepts in Cambridge, MA will be accompanied by a host of products including: premium sail polo, five panel duck brimmed cap, artisan sail-lace tee, semaphore tote bag, signature Rayban Wayfarers, bucket hat, monkey fist key chain and rope bracelet handmade in Nantucket exclusively for Concepts.
