A close friend of artist Illego, who designed the Criminal Minded Nike Air Force Ones, lost their grandmother recently so Illego did these custom sneakers for him which he calls Iron Petal. The crazy looking design includes the use of metallic concord croc material on the heel panel and a military style lace cover that uses the same metallic concord croc material. The military style lace cover was finished off with an orange zipper to match the orange upper heel panel and silver eyelets. Velma 91 was embroidered on the heel panel of the Dunks and 3M material was added to the inner side of the heel flaps. The cool gray stitching on the swoosh, heel panels and tongue cover are smooth as hell and to add a nice finishing touch to the sneakers Illego embroidered “I lost the only girl in the world that know me best” on the red insoles. Yes, the quote happens to be a Kanye West quote. And for those who are wondering, Velma was the name of the lady who passed away and 91 is the age at which she passed away. R.I.P. Velma.
