Todd Bratrud x Nike SB Dunk High “Cheech & Chong”

Following a few teaser images, we finally get our first complete look at the Nike SB Dunk’s Todd Bratrud designed this year to celebrate 4/20. Coming as a follow-up to last year’s SB Dunk “Skunk”, Bratrud presents the Nike SB Dunk High “Cheech & Chong”. Inspired by the free loving hippies and their desire to get high, these joints feature a white canvas upper that tears away to reveal a long-haired green suede. The left sneaker represents Chong with graphics on the foxing resembling his signature red bandana and the right sneaker honors Cheech, also obvious by the foxing representing his signature red skully. The smoked out insoles which we saw in an earlier preview aren’t shown here.

According to N-SB, the sneakers are limited to 1000 pairs and are scheduled to release on April 20th, 2011.

      • I agree w/ Shannon but Tommy, no need for name calling :-) Chunky could pertain to alot of things! We are all entitled to our opinion!

    • This is reckeless and irresponsible on Nike’s behalf.
Have we learn about the New Era debacle on gang affiliated bandannas?
I’d guess Not and Now sneakers? Mindless whores!

      • Are you serious? You’re going to rage at a bandanna on a shoe when its iconic to American Cinema? The duo of cheech and chong are more represented by the shoes over any gang including the bloods. Get the knots out of your laces and find something else thats important to complain about you tool.

      • gimme a break?! all you who talk smack about pot remember this- not one person in the history of the world had died from smoking pot but how many die a day drinking alcohol? get over yourselves….marijuana is the only drug that you plant a seed, give it water and sun and viola! all other drugs have to be manipulated and chemicals added… smoke a joint and relax

        • And I don’t every want to hear anyone mutter the incomprehensible words that marijuana is a “GATEWAY” drug. I love the realaxtion and spiritual awareness that marijuana invokes. If it was a “danger” to a person and society in general, the State of Arizona legalized it and is currently establishing prescribing medical personnel and dispensaries. Depending on a condition’s severity, a person can be prescribed up to 2.5 ounces every two weeks.

Smoke a joint, relax and pass me the twinkies….

      • What a hater! If we have learned anything, it’s that the responsibility of being decent people lies within us and us alone. People who “rep” colors are going to to rep a red sole, blue laces, a white hoodie, anything that pertains to a color of preference. So Nike should just start making transparent shoes and you should waste your time picketing bandana makers! Next time, instead of complaining about something that you and your friends are mature enough for, why don’t you go out and ask a gang member to put away their pride and see if it changes the world. People are going to act the same with or without clothing… GET OVER IT : )
P.S. Those are the sickest Nikes I have ever seen ( And I’m wearing matte black and red FreeWalks ((Tough to Beat)) right now…)

    • @ Chunky64

So anytime a malicious or violent group decides to adopt a benign symbol for it’s uses the rest of the world is supposed to say, “Ok, that belongs to you guys now we can’t use it for any other purpose but to imply relationship or support of your group” ???

No thanks. Half of those people probably can’t even spell Bandanna. I’m hardly concerned what an uneducated mindless hood rat gang banger thinks a sneaker represents or chooses to wear to represent his ignorant alleigance.

    • Very well put. I will buy the shoes just because of the cheech and Chong legacy of their time. Let alone with the Nike endorsement. This has nothing to do with a gang color by Nike. If this were the case CHUNCKY64 then why are you not on all the other shoe websites talking about any shoe that has red, blue, green, or yellow on it. I know you will not reply due to your lack of intelligent insight on the product, but please next time just listen to your conscience and keep your mouth shut.

    • Stheawesome
    • Neither one of you can spell bandana. And stop passing judgement on Nike. Just because a gang usues it doesn’t mean it’s their territory forever.

    • uos_spo6, so swastikas are cool with you ?
Certain symbols are off limits because of bad deeds.

That said, I agree about the shoes, who cares, because it’s not just the bandanna pattern, it’s the color that it the real issue of contention. And of course nearly all bikers, even the yuppie ones like myself, wear bandannas because they are practical. Wonder if chunky has the same issue with half the lead singers on stage, or at least Bret Michaels or perhaps aunt Jemima ?

Either way, I want a fricken pair like yesterday.

    • can’t wait for those new crackhead kicks comming out summer 2011. Oooh and those methhead sneaks are gonna be KILLER in the fall. ha! JUST DO IT ;)

    • fusseltier
    • that s one of the ugliest shoes i have ever seen in my life.
looks more like a L.A. gang style shoe than cheech & chongs…

    • Danika
    • WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Make MOREEE THAT 1000 PLEASEEE , cause alot of stoner out there will die for some shoes like that :D

    • Alex
    • no people, this is not a joke. Nike has done it before with the “skunk” shoe release. It came out last april 20th, featured marijuana textured suede in 2 tones of dark green, a purple soul, and an illustration of a stoned skunk on the insoles.

    • Marc423
    • Those shoes look like SHIT! If I didn’t read the article and just saw the picture of the shoes I would not have known they had anything to do with Cheech And Chong. I’ld rather buy an oz.

    • Romeo d
    • This sucks because cheech annd chong appealed to masses and mostly poor people there is only going to be a 1000 of these made and none of us will get them. They will be priced out of this world! The cheech chong I knew were brought up on cheap chuck taylor converse
