When Jordan Brand released the Air Jordan 2011 “Year of the Rabbit” last month they informed us that we could expect to see some other “YOTR” releases from them throughout the year. Their lips were sealed though on exactly what other sneakers those would be. If you recall, we speculated a bit on what Jordan Brand could possibly have up their sleeve, suggesting that maybe one of them would be “some sort of variation of the Air Jordan 7 “Hare”” since hare’s and rabbit’s go together like peas and carrots. As it turns out, we were dead on with our guess. Great minds really must think a like.
Here we have a look at the Air Jordan 7 Retro “Year of the Rabbit”, one of the other sneakers Jordan Brand will be releasing this year to honor the Chinese New Year. The shoe’s use the same exact color scheme as the Air Jordan 7 “Hare” with white and grey appearing throughout the base of the upper and red accenting the outsole. There are however some differences between the two. For starters, the Jumpman logo near the ankle is embroidered in gold whereas on the “Hare” edition it was embroidered in red. You’ll also notice the tongue is colored differently. It’s now solid red and no longer includes the multi-colored abstract patterns on the top-half of it. Other changes include a gold heel tag and a Red/White-Gold “23” hit on the heel.
Jordan Brand hasn’t announced any official release details for the Air Jordan 7 Retro “Year of the Rabbit” at this time, but those of you looking to get a pair now can get them for premium through SneakerHotline.
