Tractor Trailer With 3,000 Pairs of Air Max 90 Stolen In KC

Authorities in Kansas City are seeking the help of sneaker heads to track down thousands of stolen Air Max 90’s shoe’s. This past Thursday, a tractor trailer containing more than 3,000 pairs of white Air Max 90’s was stolen in Junction City, Kansas and it’s believed many of the sneakers are still in the area, possibly being sold through flea markets or back alley shops.

This is the second sneaker heist in Kansas City in the less than 3-months. Back in December there was a similar incident where thieves stole a tractor trailer packed with 4,700 pairs of the Jordan Classic 90, a theft that was valued at almost $500,000. The truck was eventually found in Iowa and the trailer, which was empty, in Lafayette County. The Air Max 90 heist tips the scales at just under $300,000, considering each pair retails for $95.

Sneakers from the previous Jordan heist have been found in Kansas City and Missouri and while authorities can’t confirm the two cases are related to together, they have said that they’ve recovered some of the Air Max 90’s in the Kansas City area. They’re asking sneaker heads to come forward with any information they may have on somebody they suspect is selling stolen white-on-white Air Max 90’s. Tips can be placed anonymously through the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477. Via:
