Dominique Wilkins may have never had his own signature sneakers when he played the game back in the 80s, but thanks to Packer Shoes, he does now. With some help from Reebok, the New Jersey-based sneaker boutique has created a Reebok Pump Omni Zone honoring the man once referred to as the Human Highlight Film. Smothered in an Atlanta Hawks-inspired colorway, the sneakers, known as the “Nique” Pump Omni Zone, feature various nods to the 6’8 giant, such as his former number stitched along the toe and his nickname along the heel. Additional details which aren’t visible on the exterior of the shoe include Packer Shoes and Human Highlight Film labels on the back of the tongues and special insoles featuring Dominique’s career points total on the one and a Top 50 graphic on the other, the latter of which references the fact Packer Shoes strongly believes Wilkins should of been on the NBA’s Top 50 Greatest Players list in ’96. If you recall, this isn’t the first time Packer Shoes has honored the two-time NBA Slam Dunk Champion through a pair of Reebok’s. They first did so on the Pump’s they designed for last year’s Pump 20 Campaign, which were designed very much like these.
Limited to 441 pairs, each of which are individually numbered on the inner ankle, the Packer Shoes x Reebok “Nique” Pump Omni Zone is scheduled to release on December 14th at 12 noon exclusively at the Packer Shoes retail location in Teaneck, NJ and through their webstore.
