Nike Air Max 90 “Gremlins” Customs

It’s become clear from his history of sneakers that along with being a skilled sneaker customizer, MizzeeCustoms is also a big movie buff. His genre of choice, well, we’d have to take a guess and say horror movies based on some his previous movie-inspired designs, which include the Nike Dunk High “Jason” and Nike Dunk High “Saw”. There’s also this newest pair of custom sneakers Mizzee just wrapped up, which once again represent a cult classic in the history of horror films. For his latest design, MizzeCustoms used a pair of Nike Air Max 90’s to depict the Mogwai creatures in the movie “Gremlins” from 1984. If you recall the movie, or it’s sequel in ’90, one of the rules for owning a Mogwai was not to feed it after midnight because if it ate, the small furry creature would turn into a ferocious, reptilian-like gremlin. Which is the side of the creatures Mizzee based his customs on, using various shades of green with a leopard-like print throughout the upper and a alligator print on the mudgard to represent their skin, and an orange gradient effect on the toe-box and around the collar to assume the role of their glowing eyes. Pink is also worked into the mix as an extra additive to attract your attention, along with a dose of gold on the Swoosh. Aside from the unusual and unique design, what’s most interesting about the sneakers is that the Air Max badges normally fastened to the heel have been relocated to the tongue and replaced with Mizzee’s “M” logo.
