After bringing you a look at the sneakers for the first time when we covered the entire Nike Doernbecher Freestyle Project VII collection, we now provide you with a detailed look at the Air Jordan 3 “Doernbecher”. Cole Johanson, a Portland, Oregon native who’s held-up at the state’s Doernbecher Children’s Hospital with Burkitt’s Lymphoma, had the privileged of designing the Air Jordan 3 for this years collection. Cole’s AJ3 design starts with a bright varsity red base featuring a unique laser-etched pattern Cole whipped up to accompany Jordan’s signature elephant print. Black was than worked in on various locations to provide some contrast against the abundance of red, while metallic silver accents appear on the midsole, lining and branding. Finishing details include the adored icey clear outsole and COURAGE//STR3NGTH printed across the insoles.
