Those of you lucky enough to get your hands on the Nike LeBron 8 “South Beach” this weekend may have noticed something printed on the box which left you with a few questions. Upon sliding the sneakers out of their pull-out box, “LeBron V/1” could been seen printed along the side of the inner box. If you were stumped as to what it meant, the markings are clearly a reference to the sneakers being version 1 of the Nike LeBron 8. That’s right, there’s two different versions of the Nike LeBron 8 scheduled to release this year and the “LeBron V/1” hit lets you know you’ve got the first one.
The second version, which is seen here and available now through MarqueeSole in limited sizes, is known simply as the Nike LeBron 8 V/2. The silhouette of the shoe remains the same as V/1 but comes in a much lighter and more flexible package. You’ll instantly notice the the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 has been stripped down and given a bare ass look. Gone are the heavy carbon fiber panels and most of the leather paneling altogether, leaving only the lace panels and a small portion of the toe covered in leather. The flywire stays in place to maintain a sturdy build and joining it is a clear synthetic material which allows you to see the heavily ventilated base.
When further details on the Nike LeBron 8 V/2 are available we’ll let you know, until then follow the jump to check out the photos.
