If you recall, a few days ago Sneaker Obsession brought you a preview of the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII “China”. At the time it was believed the sneakers would only land in the hands of Asian distributors. Today, we’ve learned that’s not the case. While providing us with some detailed photos of the sneakers, Foot Locker has also announced a future US release date. Compared to LeBron’s other China-inspired sneakers from years past which used a red base (aside from the White/Gold VII), the Nike Air Max LeBron VIII “China” goes easy on the red and heavy on the white. Tumbled leather and flywire build the solid white base, while sport red appears on the lining, Swoosh trim, midsole and speckle pattern laid over the visible Air unit. If you’re looking closely, you’ll notice the debossed lion logo on the tongue isn’t stylized like it was on the pair we saw in the early image. Instead of looking like an ancient Chinese stone carving, the lion head is straight off the LeBron VII Post Season. Unfourently for us, that was one of the main details that attracted us to the sneakers. If you’re still feeling them regardless of the switch, you’ll have your chance to grab a pair on October 26th, 2010.
