Throughout the first half of the year Nike released the Air Griffey Max 1 in a variety of new and original colorways in what could be considered a tribute to Ken Griffey Jr’s retirement. While there’s still another Air Griffey Max 1 release to come in 2011, the gist of what Nike had planned for the shoes is pretty much over and done with. Therefore it’s time to move forward with Griffey’s second signature, the Nike Air Griffey Max GD II. Earlier this month we informed you of a Black/Varsity Royal colorway which is set to release in the coming days. If you weren’t digging those maybe this pair is more to your liking. Maintaining the same color blocking as the aforementioned pair, this Air Griffey Max GD II features a tonal black upper with Electric Green accents around the Swoosh, on the tongue logo and within the Air unit and semi-translucent outsole. No official release details are available at this time, so stay tuned for further details and keep in mind the Varsity Royal pair can be had through Eastbay.
