The recent demand for Foamposites has created an outbreak. While feeding consumers with the Air Foamposite One, Nike’s been creating hybrids and redesigning classics to include the use of the lightweight thermoplastic material. Jordan Brand’s also trying to bank off the success Nike’s had. Previously we saw a Foamposite Air Jordan 1 Retro using black foamposite and now we’ve spotted this Jordan 6 Rings which takes direction from the Royal Air Foamposite One. However, unlike the previously mentioned AJ1, the Six Rings don’t appear to use actual foamposite material as evident by the creases and stitching. There is however no mistaken the inspiration behind them with the Orlando Magic like color scheme matched with a translucent outsole.
Reports at this time list the sneakers for a release sometime in February 2011 for a retail price of $160. The pair shown here is a sample SZ 9 which surfaced through eBay, so there is a chance that once we see a retail version Jordan Brand may opt to swap the leather for foamposite. When further pics and info is provided we’ll be sure to let you know.
