“Goodbye Baseball, Hello Cooperstown” – Ken Griffey Jr. Commercial

Goodbye Baseball, Hello Cooperstown Ken Griffey Jr. Commercial

The man with the sweetest swing in baseball called it quits earlier this year. After 22 seasons of playing for 3 teams, in which he tallied up 630 home runs and 1,836 RBI’s, Ken Griffey Jr. put in for his retirement at the age of 40 years old. Along with his outstanding, Hall of Fame-ready career,  Ken Griffey Jr. was one of Nike’s most profitable MLB athletes with his own signature line known as the Swingman collection that included everything from sneakers and cleats, to baseball gloves and batting gloves.

With Griffey’s retirement and his history with Nike, the footwear-slash-appeal brand has been coming up with ways to honor the man we still consider The Kid. About a week ago they released a Trainer 1.2 Mid marking his home run achievement and now they’ve released this commercial titled “Goodbye  Baseball, Hello Cooperstown”. The  short 33-second video displays various clips of Griffey and what we know him best far. Knocking em outta the park.
