LeBron James being award with his second consecutive MVP award this year didn’t really come as a surprise given the fact he may just be the most popular athlete playing the game. With the award in his foresight, Nike was well prepared to present LeBron with a few new sneakers to honor the occasion.
Making their way through the various versions of LeBron’s signature sneakers, Nike mocked up MVP editions of the Zoom LeBron VII Low, Air Max LeBron VII and the LeBron VII PS NFW which is seen here. In the same fashion as the Air Max model, this air-less, flywire-less version is inspired by LeBron’s Nike varsity jacket, mixing in the same materials used on said jacket. The shoes feature a white leather base with grey fleece replacing the usual flywire paneling, gold chenille filling in the Nike Swoosh, and subtle accents of crimson outlining the the logo and covering the inner lining. Instead of the standard full-length air sole, this pair sports a translucent outsole consisting of gold speckles. To commemorate LeBron’s two MVP awards embroidery of “08/09” and “09/10” is included on the underside of the tongues, while interlocked MVP lettering is worked into the medial side of the upper.
It’s unknown at this time whether or not the Nike LeBron VII PS NFW “MVP” PE will ever release, so stay tuned for further updates and continue reading to check out some detailed photos of the sneakers provided by LRJ23.
