In another two weeks the grills will be fired up, the coolers will be stocked and the parties will begin as we kick off the Fourth of July weekend. If you’re a sneakerhead, or more importantly an SB Dunk fanatic, pool parties and fireworks are probably the last thing of your mind this year. While your parents are hitting up grocery stores to stock up on snacks and drinks, you’ll be on an important mission of your own, trying desperately to snag a pair of the the Nike SB Dunk High “Bruce Springsteen”.

In what’s become the perfect collaboration for the time of year, Nike SB teamed up with NJ Skateshop to honor Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album “Born In The USA”. The sneakers feature the use of denim on the toe, midfoot and foxing, which is inspired by the denim pants Bruce is wearing on his album cover, while white on the toe matches his shirt and blue on the mid-panel coordinates with his blue jeans. Besides for paying tribute to The Boss’ album, the sneakers fit in perfectly with the patriotic Fourth of July holiday, proudly displaying our nations stripes around the ankle, an element which also ties into Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the USA” cover as he can be seen standing infront of the stripes.

According to what we’ve heard, NJ Skateshop will be the first shop to launch the Nike SB Dunk High “Bruce Springsteen”, releasing the sneakers alongside a skatedeck and some graphic tees on July 3rd through their 3 retail locations throughout New Jersey. Other Nike SB accounts will then take on a small quantity of the sneakers 2 weeks later as a quickstrike. These are the details given to us when a call was put into NJ Skateshop, so if your outside the Jersey area, give your local Nike SB retailer a ring to see if they’ve gotten any word on a release coming to your area.
