While Star Wars nerds got their fix with the extensive adidas Originals collection, comic book geeks are soon to be presented with their own must-have as Warner Bros. and DC Comics team up with adidas and Dwight Howard to release a collection of products carrying the Superman logo, which also happens to be Dwight’s on-court nickname.
Among one of the items scheduled to drop later this year as part of the collaboration is the adidas TS Beast “Superman”. The unique, limited release of Dwight’s signature sneaker features a White/White/Vision Blue color scheme with various Superman elements, such as the shields on the tongue and heel, and a call to Superman’s headquarters, the Fortress of Solitude, seen printed along the lateral side of the heel. The laces are always colored to match the blue from Superman’s costume, with red and yellow mixed around beneath the clear translucent outsole. On top of the Superman hits, you also have your standard Dwight Howard markings with a 12 on the tongue lace holder, a 12 along the upper most lace eyelets on the medial side of the upper and Dwight’s signature on the outer side. What’s really not visible in the pictures is the holographic, rainbow-like colors worked in throughout the white patent leather base, something that only becomes visible when looking at the sneakers in a certain angle.
An exact release date for the adidas TS Beast “Superman” is unavailable at this time, but Eastbay has reported that they expect to have some of the limited quantity being made available sometime around November.
