Back since the mid-80’s there’s been an ongoing debate in New Jersey between Bon Jovi and Bruce Springsteen fans on who’s the real Jersey Boy and can rightfully be claimed the king of the streets. While both parties have a loyal following and an endless list of accomplishments fit for a king, The Boss might have 1-up on Jon Bon Jovi thanks to a little help from NJ Skateshop.
Paying tribute to Bruce Springsteen’s 1984 album “Born in the USA”, NJ Skateshop teamed up with Nike SB to produce a Dunk which not only honor’s one of Bruce’s more popular records, but also fits right in with the upcoming theme for the Fourth of July holiday. If the shoes look familiar to you it’s cause pictures of them first surfaced online back in November ’09. It doesn’t appear much has changed since then, still consisting of denim around the frontal and on the lace panels and heel, matched with white leather on the toe, navy blue leather on the mid-panel and red on the Swoosh. The obvious eye-catcher here and what ties the shoes into Bruce Springsteen’s “Born in the U.S.A.” album cover is the red and white stripes included around the ankle.
