While any ol’ pair of J’s can be worn to play ball indoors or out, they’re mainly geared for the polished hardwood floors and don’t withstand much of a beating when used regularly on the asphalt. Therefore Jordan Brand has taken what is said to be their most technically advanced basketball sneaker and produced it in a style that’s ready for war on the meanest city streets.
Known as the Air Jordan 2010 Playground Outdoor, the sneakers are a revamped version of the Air Jordan 2010 which like it says, is geared for the outdoor playground’s. To modify the look of the original Air Jordan 2010 and suit it up for the streets, the toe box and heel were both reinforced, double midfoot straps were added for an extra secure fit and the rubber outsole was brought up to extend over most of the midsole.
Seen here is the Air Jordan 2010 Playground Outdoor “For Love Of The Game” which uses a University Blue base constructed from nubuck and leather, with black on the toe and liner, and white on the outsole. Embroidered along the ankle is a heart shaped basketball tying the sneakers into their “For Love of The Game” title.
It’s unknown at this time when the sneakers are set to release, but according to VMV, who provided these photos, they’re scheduled to drop as a limited release. For a closer look follow the jump.
