For years HUF’s been a mecca for skateboarders in The Bay, supplying all the latest threads from the industry’s leading companies. HUF also has their own line of branded products which has evolved tremendously from graphics tees to cut & sew items. Come this Fall though the brand will embark on their biggest journey yet as they enter the sneaker industry with their very own line of HUF Footwear.
For the past couple of months previews of some of the sneakers have been surfacing online, along with commercials promoting the upcoming release. One of the sneakers we’ve repeatedly seen in a variety of different colors is the HUF Hupper, shown here in White/Gum. The high-top sneaker has a very clean look to it, making use of very few panels throughout the upper, all of which are constructed out of durable canvas. Minimal branding is used to maintain the subtle look, incorporating an enlarged H across the side of the upper which blends right into the sleek design and working in a HUF tag across the tongue. All the Hupper’s we’ve seen thus far consisted on tonal uppers like this one, with the same branding. However, this White/Gum version includes a few minor differences from the others. First off, the vulcanized sole unit has a gum bumper. All the others had a solid white vulcanized midsole. Then there’s also the detailing along the base of the upper. The others used the standard pinstripe, this one uses tiny stars lined up around the base.
No official release date is available at this time but thanks to Complex we’ve been provided with a preview of the sneakers in the mean time.
