When images of a Un-Powder Blue Air Jordan 9 Retro surfaced online earlier this week, consumers instantly took to the forums and their Facebook and Twitter accounts to express what seemed to be mostly disappoint in the new colorway.
Having gained so much love for the Powder Blue IX, which is set to release on May 29th, it was hard for some people to have the same appreciation for the reversed colorway which takes the university blue outta the midsole and injects it onto the nubuck midfoot, while also removing most of the black from the shoes all together. We saw comments like “another Jordan release for the trash” and “these look like a pair of bootleg J’s you’d see at a flea market or on some fugazi website.” There were a few supporters who didn’t think the shoes looked half bad, but they were few and far in between and were no match to the naysayers who came through by the droves. While we can’t agree with the comments entirely, we defiantly do favor the Powder Blue’s over the un-edition cause in our option the sole unit is just to bland. It could desperately use a hit of blue or black, even if it were just on the Jumpman.
No official release date for the Air Jordan 9 Retro University Blue/White has been announced at this time, but select resellers are starting to get their hands on the sneakers in a limited amount of sizes. They don’t have em in stock just yet, but VMV is the most recent reseller to offer them up, taking pre-orders in sizes up to 12 for $280.
