Earlier this month images of a few USA Basketball-themed sneakers started surfacing online. First came the Kobe V which Kobe Bryant is expected to wear this year as he represents Team USA in the FIBA World Championship. Shortly after that came some photos of the Nike Lebron VII Low which may, or may not appear on the feet of King James during this years games. Luckily, James’ decision on whether or not he’s going to play for the USA Basketball team has no effect on the Nike releasing his sneakers.
Available now through Finish Line is the LeBron VII Low which Nike produced to coordinate with the USA Basketball uniforms in case LeBron decides to lace up this year. Bringing forth the colors of our country, Nike draped the upper half of the sneakers in white leather, using blue on the suede mudguard, rubber mid-sole and on the plush inner lining. Accents of red are almost slim to known, with the color particularly only visible on the pipping around the mudguard. Other then that you have a pair of red insoles and a red Swoosh on the outsole, both of which don’t add much to the external design. A few sets of gold eyelets and some speckle laces try and help out the sneakers, but with the lack of red, a strong color our nation stands by, it just appears to me that there’s something missing here.
Needless to say, I’m not the biggest fan of what was done here in terms of color blocking, but if you disagree and wanna add another pair of kicks to your LeBron collection swing by Finish Line now to pick yourself up a pair for $95.
